Oh, I'm grateful for Cronus.
He's extremely valuable as a baseline for how horrible a character is. It's really easy to put character in perspective by comparing them to Cronus. When a character goes down to below Cronus, then you know he's Caliborn-caliber horrible.

None of them would be possible without our favorite, Queen Spider8itch, setting the bar for all the lowly mortals to follow.
To the best of my knowledge neither Eridan, Cronus, nor Caliborn had sweeping rule changes on the MSPA forums dedicated to what you could or could not say about fictional characters, after all.
