I think there's something significant about the loading screen for "Make her pay". Four of the symbols have the shiny flash (I noticed Vriska's and Tavros' symbols) and one symbol turns red during the flash. Then one of the other ones that doesn't flash constantly switches between blue and red.

The one that switches is Sollux' I think. And the one that turns red is karkat's. No surprises there. I noticed the flashing as well, but I really can't tell how it could be significant. There doesn't seem to be much of a correlation between teams or actions or exiles.

The five flashing symbols are Sollux, Kanaya, Karkat, Tavros, and Eridan. Karkat's goes from Grey to Red, Aradia switches between red and blue. Trollshirts for reference.

There doesn't seem to be any significance to the flashing, I agree.
