First Guardians exist to facilitate a planet's ultimate purpose. They're also omniscient but for a few blind spots which exist for the purpose of making their purpose happen. Bec clearly knew what the kernelsprite was for, and obviously could have done any number of things there. He specifically teleported other objects away from it after waiting until the last second. Whether it works to his or someone else's advantage, Becquerel did this with calm intention.

One way outside possibility is that this was a really roundabout way for Bec to quit his job so that he could take a more direct hand in things. Which would mean that the reason he did it is probably the same as the reason it happened, which again would fit into causes and effects being the same. I don't really think so though.

I've decided that for these things to work, there need to be reasons that are at least a degree or two separated from "ensure the time loop." Like a loyal dog protecting his master or faith in instructions from the dead, or something else. Even when we've had ____s of Time going around KNOWING that they're doing stuff to ensure time loops pan out, there've still been other reasons. Which makes sense and avoids the "but if Lavos was already dead then we'd never have fought him in the first place" problem of time loops. It's like you're putting on a play for the Universe, and if you just come out and say "and then the script says I cut off MacBeth's head," it will boo you off the stage.

The word "omnipotent" has been thrown around, but we don't know how literal this is or what the extent of his powers was. He could do some crazy things pre-prototyping, sure. But could he fire a huge green laser? We have no idea. It looked like his powers were passive, for the most part. Teleporting anywhere, and being able to teleport anything anywhere. It's reasonable to think he could have redirected it into the sun or such. Maybe he had a good reason for not doing this, and blowing it up instead?

So basically Bec had his reasons and they may or may not have been good.

Yeah, I saw that too. I don't think his powers were necessarily passive so much as that's the way he used them because he was a passive being by the very nature of his purpose, which relates to the one outside possibility I mentioned. At any rate, even with teleportation alone, he could have resolved that situation without self-prototyping.

The OMNISCIENCE has been described in greater detail, assuming that he is essentially the same sort of being as Doc Scratch. That stuff we can take as being a bit more literal.

As far as Derse prototyping goes... it's difficult to figure out exactly why DD did what he did there. Either way, I'm not really inclined to take it as some kind of plan to create Bec Noir (although in timey wimey terms, it was, but you know what I mean), which is an idea I've heard thrown around. I tend to see it as a more abstract thing, like having a determining effect on Bec's fate.

I don't think Bec is omniscient. I'll concede that he is definitely smarter than the average dog, but he lacks the intelligence or know-how of Scratch.

Technically he's not truly omniscient, since he'd have the same blank spots that even Scratch conceded to when pressed on his omniscience. However, if he was actually created with the genetic code that was used for Scratch - and there is a vague possibility that DD somehow fucked that (but then he wouldn't be Earth's First Guardian, although he hasn't been directly called that, so who knows) - then well...

Basically means that the near-omniscience is a product of the near-omnipotence. Bec has clearly been intelligent enough to know exactly what he needs to do at any given moment up to now, so it would seem he got that "host of great intelligence," and we know he got the near-omnipotence. And the comic itself says near-omnipotence + host of great intelligence = near omniscience.

I think the implication Andrew was trying to give was that he lacked really any form of omniscience.

A dog (breed uncertain) is not a host of great intelligence. I have no idea what Scratch was made from. Possibly the magic cue ball.

Underline and Bold mine. If the code is merged with a DOG, it might only give him above-average dog- intelligence, or none at all, so even kinda-sorta omniscient might not apply.

I think Bec's omnipotent abilities were limited by his intelligence, his only shown skill was teleporting himself and other objects. By being kernelsprited animal sentience is enhanced to a communicable level, and information about the game is given that they must be able to properly process.

Being an omni-sprite gives him more options with his abilities, and I suspect new stuff like that laser are gonna be simple things for him now.
