It's questionable as to whether he could even get Bec to do it. Maybe Bec's nature as a dog makes him vulnerable to something like that, or maybe before he was just responding to a pretty reasonable suggestion. Tavros communes, he doesn't command, so it's more like he's just very convincing than that he has control. Which makes sense for the Page of Breath.

The trouble with figuring out whether Bec has done something by his own will or not is that whatever he ends up doing plays into the grand plan, which is what his job is to ensure anyway.

I'd like to know if it's possible for a First Guardian to truly fail. I mean, aborted timelines don't really count, since they're necessary for the alpha timeline. And failed sessions are all part of the grand plan too. I guess the only way an instrument of fate can be considered to have failed is if fate gets busted, which I suppose is what all of this is going to amount to, but then, that seems to have been the point all along too.

Hold on, bit of an issue here....

The thing about the hook and/or the chain (these metaphorical objects being interchangeable) is that you cannot "fly off" them, you are either on or off of them, no action recquired.... You can fly off the handle, but not off the hook/chain.

Put simply off the hook/chain is a state of being, flying off the handle is an action.

I actually have no problem with what Vriska's saying to Tavros for the most part. Not even the tone.

Well, up to where she starts telling him to try and make Bec go after Jack anyway.
