I've always wondered, what's the significance of those shapes?
I mean, in the kid's session, there's an egg ship and an apple ship, matching Dave's egg and John's apple pre-Medium.
This crab probably matches what Karkat had.
But from what I understand, the shape of those things are pre-determined by the Pre-Punched Cards at the very beginning.

... It just seems kind of a weird coincidence.

I think the fact that Terezi was aware of her exile and capable of talking back to it was actually pretty impressive.
