I really love this epic passive-aggressive battle between Rose and her mom. I mean, the velvet cushion is one thing, but a bronze encased vacuum? A 15,000$ frame welded to the door? That's a long way to go to spite someone.

I doubt it. "Ale and derision" is kinda hard to mistake.

All mother-daughter relationships should resolve their conflicts like this. Make the home life rather easier.

I love the theme of familial relationships. I did note that Dave thinks his bro is cool, but likely there is some unmentioned battles between them as of yet. Wonder if GG will provide the sister, or a less obvious family member?

The narration did mention that they're competitive (which is the only reason they had any interest in the Sburb betas), so I think there are indeed battles over trying to outmatch each other.
