Jack is always rebellious, always ambitious

Yes, but as Hussie himself has stated, he doesn't always rebel. In this case, he rebelled very early in the game without any interaction with the players. The only outside influence he'd had by that point was Dad burning his hat. There's other things that could affect it, obviously, but someone acting in open defiance of the custom and basically doing whatever he wants is the sort of thing that'd get an archagent thinkin. For whatever reason, he pretty much chose death instead of putting on those clothes - it was only at the last second that he got the bunny, so it wasn't opportunity that got him to rebel here.

Anyway, even if it were just the hat being burned at all, the point is that his interactions with the Guardians have so far pretty much been conflicts that added up to a net gain for him.

Thing is, it's usually a safe bet that MSPA HAS updated.

He'd already been in the habit of ditching the clothes at every opportunity he could, only putting them on when the Queen was breathing down his neck about it. Eventually the Queen got on his case at knifepoint, and instead of surrendering, He used the confiscated Robobunny. Dad Egbert has absolutely nothing to do with that.

Further, Troll-session Jack rebelled with no provocation whatsoever, actively seeking out Karkat to hatch his plan. It's probably safe to assume that Jack is a game construct specifically designed to help the players depose at least one of the Derse rulers before the final battle arrives. The trolls handled it correctly, Exiling the Black Queen and then getting Jack out of the way so he wouldn't take her place.

I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to say vis a vis the "how Rebellious is Jack Noir" angle.

That being said; Hussie you are brilliant and an amazing animator/storyteller, and I adore you.


In regards to Feferi: I assume she's dreaming this while she's sleeping in the pile of horns, post Derse-destruction (??), as seen in the flash game. Both she and Jade had the black dream-cloud instead of their Prospit/Derse icon dream clouds.
