Well he's more than a King and a Queen remember? So it's more like he can move to any spot on the board at any time and take the peice, but that doesn't mean even just some pawn couldn't take him were Jack to move like an idiot.

Also, this is the Land of Wind and Shade. So given that wind is supposed to feed air to fire this could be really bad, but it could also be just fine.

Typheus is the Denizen of LOWAS. There's a fair bit of conclusive stuff pointing to this fact, most significantly the names of each kid's internet browser.

Hephaestus was miffed about getting his LEGENDARY PIECE OF SHIT broken and stolen, and instantly sent a bunch of Giclopses to take it back. Setting LOWAS aflame is gonna put Typheus into a homicidal rage.

Well, I'm just saying we don't entirely know Typheus's personality. He certainly has messed with the natural order of LOWAS a lot, and he's apparently an extremely heavy sleeper.

Granted, setting all the oil oceans aflame would probably be enough to wake him.
