inb4 Jadesprite spends all of act 6 lamenting over her resurrection and casually hooking up with Karkat, bogging down the an entire story arc that is only salvaged at the very end when Rose, furious over the unexpected shooting death of Kanaya by Eridan, goes completely batshit and tries to end everything with her dark magic, defeating the rest of the cast in the process before being brought back to her senses at the last moment by John.

The Dave that went into Davesprite wasn't ripped from wherever death is to be put back into reality, also it may seem that Dream selves can develop altered personalities with enough activity.

The point still stands. Any situation where one is forced into close contact with another iteration of themselves, they will almost always loathe the other version of them passionately. Dave is thus far the exception, dealing with himself from time loops and split timelines.

And Davesprite came from a timeline where two of his best friends were dead and he was stuck fighting for months just to get a means of reversing the situation and ultimately dooming himself. That is probably an experience that would alter your mental state just a bit.
