EDIT: He wouldn't have any Magic motifs at all. Since there were none.

Well, fraymotifs are only a thing that matters if you're using them to compensate for a lack of raw power. For instance, Dave needs fraymotifs like a motherfucker, but John and Rose can basically wreck planets without them already, and thus don't need them.

Eridan's now rocking Rose-level firepower, so fraymotifs are pretty much beneath him at the moment.

This is all just wild speculation and opinion, honestly. This is pretty much the only real indication we have of how powerful he is, and honestly no reason to believe the two are weaker or stronger.

I, personally, doubt he could hold a candle to Rose. There is nothing to show he is even near that strong or knowledgable.

He spent almost the entire game session murdering angels. I don't wanna get all biblical here or anything but that's no small feat. And that was before he got the wand.

When one troll rolls in and takes out two other trolls in rapid succession with magic, I think from a narrative standpoint it's to be inferred that he is a legitimate threat.

So, it seems Eridan has utterly failed to fulfill the role the game gave him (barring further futurepast development). Rose has been fulfilling her role as a seer, but still pointedly not doing what the game wants her too. BOTH of them attacked things they weren't supposed to. Kind of a funny little parallel for the two magic users. Maybe evidence that other things are driving Eridan's fate, or that his actions are serving something else.

Maybe that's the price you pay for magic.
