Well, we know from whats-her-face's discussions with Jade (the password stuff) that whats-her-face is fated to have more conversations with Jade that she hasn't had yet, so either she isn't dead, or this is an alternate time-line of some kind.

But yeah basically this ^^^. Also, if this isn't a doomed time-line (and I sincerely doubt that it is), then the fact that Kanaya lives through this means the "DEAD" sound effect isn't necessarily a declaration of someone's death.

Y'know, is Eridan trying to steal Vriska's "worst troll" title? Cause he's doing a pretty good job of it. And he doesn't even need deudly firearms.

Kanaya had one discussion with Jade.
They set up the password system.
Jade gives her the password, "CROOOOOOOOOOOAK".
Jade waits for her to give her the password.
Kanaya never gives it to her because she dies.

But shit man this is pretty disheartening. Genuinely hoping the whole afterlife gig that Feferi got herself into comes into play because

We just went through so many panels of Kanaya just interacting with the kids with the sole narrative purpose of building friendships with them. So many. And it's going to just, disappear to nothing? God damn.

I think it's his at this point; they're tied for murders but I think "wiping out the last hope for his race to exist" beats even "years long psychological and physical abuse of an innocent, well-meaning doofus".

EDIT: on the meta-terribleness level I think "responsible for back to back shockdeaths as part of an obviously idiotic plan to buddy up with the villain" is at least competitive with "Secretly Mary-Sueing the entire story in a totally uninteresting way."

Vriska killed lots of people off panel, and only one on panel. Unless you count talking John into letting her put him to sleep on the quest bed, which would be SILLY, 'cause Jack was gonna kill John, anyway.

So if we're counting off panel murders, Vriska has killed a ton of young trolls to feed to her lusus before the hivebent session started, if we're not Eridan is one murder up on her.

Though speaking of Vriska, I think it's salient to point out that Equius, Terezi, Kanaya, and Tavros are the only trolls she's ever felt a kinship with. Tavros's died out when he let her bleed out slow and then tried to attack her, but the other three she should still be on good terms with (well, Kanaya isn't on good terms with her, but it's not like Vriska realizes that or why that is).

Eridan just killed one of those three.

Of those two, only one of them is god tier.

Eridan seems pretty well fucked.

To be fair, Eridan at least facilitated a number of those kills, and they were all people who'd gotten involved in a competition where death WAS a possible stake. With Vriska.

Every troll Vriska's ever killed had all but signed a declaration of war with her.

I count them more as predation than murder at that point. Things don't really get messy until the plot stuff with Tavros and Aradia.

Edit: Basically, not saying Vriska is morally exonerated from the stuff she's done, but it's not like it's hard to stay out of her way. You just don't go "hey, lets have a conflict," or attack her. Eridan, on the other hand, is getting to the point where he's straight up psychotic.
