Well to state the obvious, Eridan is probably about to start down a path of a less torrid malice. I'm actually not wholly confident on where Hussie's taking this at this point, and I like that.

Also, Eridan probably didn't have what appears to be a fleet of ships with expendable crewmen.

Then again, Vriska herself doesn't seem to be nearly as good at the subtle manipulations as Mindfang would appear to be.

Well this also explains why Eridan thinks of following in your ancestor's footsteps is BS. He assumed he and Vriska were destined to be together in black, but he took that as a way to take the relationship easy and screwed it up. So now he feels snubbed and hopeless.

Plus, she can't quite stomach the things Mindfang used her power for.

Forcing cripplings and suicides is easier, though. Odd.

And Vriska did say that when she was using her powers to do obviously horrible things (rather than less obviously manipulative stuff), she was 'trying too hard'. Apparently, murdering people with your mind powers is a sign of troll immaturity.

You know, if dead Dave is going to become Lord English and create The Felt, could it be he does so to fight Bec Noir with the kids? I'm kinda just tossing that out there, but it seems to make as much sense as dead Dave being LE after all.
