I did a lot of posting on here as a teenager, and I was pretty awful. There is only one remaining guest. The reader's entrance happens before Spades Slick visits Doc Scratch. He tells us not to touch the bowl of candy since it is for another guest, and when Spades shows up he gets a bowl of candy.
