But she still mostly just sees vague impressions of the future and has years of experience in deciphering their meaning. And even then I still doubt her capability to pull off that specific a feat with her precognitive abilities.

Which means I really don't see a noob like John pulling it off on his first day.

Hmmm... You know, it could just be as simple as knowing what Transportalizer to step on. Being in the Land of Wind and Shade will automatically get him the Beta (given the mail delivery system), and then it's just a matter of returning to his house with the cheat rocket.

Yeah, it shouldn't be too hard for him to do it, and the trolls' little timeline readout screen seemed to indicate that there's plenty of time before Jade enters.

Well, it all depends on how long Dave was asleep after Rose woke up. There's no concrete reckoning on the flow of time.

I mean, they were all doing things which could have taken quite a lot of time. Or not much time at all. It's left fairly ambiguous.

Jade doesn't seem to be in any great hurry, so I suspect it'll be a little while yet.

I'm disappointed in Dave's inability to keep his snooping a secret, though I guess when you read something that weird, it's all you can do not to say something. Not that there's much hope of elucidation. Rose sounds completely bananas right now, even in context.

I suppose it's now clear why Dream Cal was with Dream Dave. Likely he was placed there to keep Dave inside, to protect him.

Hm. I can't decide yet if Rose burning that was a good thing or a bad thing, and vice versa for Dave keeping a copy. Current theory is that she had to burn it to keep a secret and the antagonists will find his copy.
