Well, considering the recent reveal that the trolls' dream selves were killed in their session (which explains the dark circles under their eyes if such an occurrence had the unfortunate result of making them unable to sleep), it's entirely probable that their playthrough wasn't particularly ideal.

However, whatever the trolls did was clearly nowhere near as catastrophic as what the kids' session is leading to, and I suspect Mike is probably not too far off in his suspicions. It would appear, at least to me, that whatever is currently happening my essentially result in the end of the Sburb cycle altogether. This may end up being the last game, and whether "last game" means the end of all existence or not may be the only thing left for the kids to save at the end.

We know that taking Snowman out of existence apparently ends the universe, which is something that Spades Slick was wise enough to avoid. The younger and possibly less wise Jack Noir, however, may not be aware of such pitfalls in the game's mechanics and the genetic coding used to create Bec may have also been the key to Snowman's own reality warping capabilities, which means that Jack could quite stupidly be about to tear the entire universe down to nothing if he comes into possession of such power.

Well, cG has dark circles when Spades Slick talks to him (presumably at some point during the game), so I guess it depends on when it happened. I don't think it's possible for their session to have been as disastrous as the kids', but dramatically, their constant gabbing about how awesome they are as players makes me doubt it's the whole story.

Hussie directly stated in the recap that Snowman got those powers at some point after being exiled.

Another difference in the trolls' session is that at some point along the way, the Black Queen was also exiled, later joined a rival gang called The Felt, assumed special powers that make her highly inadvisable to kill, and came to be known as Snowman.

Just because they beat the game doesn't mean they beat it perfectly. It's seems likely that they may have just barely gotten by and had to lose a lot in the process due to one or more major mistakes on their part.

And someone acquiring those powers before being exiled would be a major game changer, wouldn't it?

We don't know that they actually beat the game, or beat it perfectly, unless killing the black king is the only condition for winning. Just because it's over doesn't mean they did it all right. The thing is, without a reference point, it's hard to tell if being stuck in the veil is something that's "supposed" to happen (sort of like , something they did to themselves, or somehow a consequence. (Granted, the first option is likely enough--after all, where the hell are they going to go? There's not much left to return to.)

EDIT2: I guess I'm imagining something like any "bad" ending of a game where you technically finish, but you fail to meet all the conditions for the best-case scenario.
