So, I guess the Guardians' purpose for the Kids was to wake up their denizens? Which means that Dad/Mom/Bro woke up Typheus/Cetus/Hephaestus on their respective planets, which is what they were really up to the whole time.

Going from that, the obvious holes are guardians that became... indisposed before going onto the planets. Like Becquerel and all the trolls' Lusii. Maybe that's why the trolls killed all the Denizens they encountered? Also, unless Jadesprite does something that's a spanner in the works in terms of getting the Quills of Echidna.

EDIT FOR STUPID SPECULATION: Since Dad/Mom/Bro all commited suicide by Jack afterwards, there's a parallel here with Doc Scratch who also wants to die since he's also completed his task (but for getting LE here instead).

Once again, we're shown further evidence that the Trolls were top-notch at killing things and leveling up and "winning", but that they utterly failed at the puzzle-solving, lore-discovering, coming-of-age portion of the whole thing.

I'd say Tavros totally didn't. He was the one interested in all the lore discovering and puzzle solving and stuff.

Right. I mentioned him at the top. He probably talked, or even tried to commune, with Typheus instead of killing him.

I guess Tavros got Typhus, Aradia had Hephaestus, and Kanaya had Echidna.
