She saw the future all the time. All she had to do was look at the Clouds in Skaia. They showed her the future. She did not have to be there in the future to see it.

That seems pretty probable. I had a slight feeling that it was like, CG from further in the future, as AT said that future!Jade thought that CG was a nice guy, implying that he succumbs the human emotion of Friendship and becomes less of a prick. The letter, however, seemed to state that the writer hadn't met John. So Grandpa is a good candidate.

Or, a more outlandish theory with no logical grounding would be Lord English, as Andrew stated that he would make an appearance eventually.

I guess I'm used to "sees the future" meaning "sees their own future," and what John sees didn't conflict with that. The flash in which Jade looks into the clouds does, but well, I only watched that once before now and never thought of it again.

Definately. Especially since a big clue was dropped in his letter.

His favorite movie is Weekend At Bernie's.

Also, it'd make sense if he named his ship Jade after a cherished penpal/friend from his youth.

I understand the premise of ConAir, and have seen bits and pieces of it, but I guess I'll take your advice on Weekend at Bernie's. Perhaps that'll clear things up.
