Default Volcano+Lightning FTW

I'm guessing most people have heard that a volcano erupted in Chile last week. Interestingly enough, just a month ago I was there for a conference and only staying about an hour drive away from the volcano that erupted.

However, the coolest thing was this picture here. A lightning storm collided with the plume of ash to create the flaming lightning ball of death shown below.

It may well be one of the most impressive things I've ever seen. It evokes fear, awe, power, and elegance all at the same time. So I thought I'd share this awesomeness wrapped into a photo with my favorite forum.

Add a tidal wave and you've got Aang. [/avatar reference]

That's a really impressive phenomenon, most people would say that it's photoshopped though. It seems a bit unreal.

'Cept its not. The picture was taken by a photojournalist from United Press International who was covering the volcano story. Certified by two major newspapers as well as National Geographic as being authentic.

However, I can see where you would say it looks unreal. Like something from some sort of end of the world movie or something...

Or as BHS said, an MTG card.

That totally looks like a MTG card. It would be like Nature's Wrath and destroy all lands or something

Damn. I'm saving that picture. It's pimp. Damn...

That is why we must fear and respect nature. It can kill us in a horrible fashion, or it can make us awe in such sweet awsomeness. That said, I would love to actually see that happening.

I'll bet five bucks within three weeks we're going to see a new Scifi original movie.

The title will be something along the lines of "Electric Magma" But I'm not entirely sure how they'll spin it so the whole world is in danger...
