Final Fantasy - d6cussion
Since the other thread was over the limit, here's a discussion thread...
The way I'm handling experience is that I'll have people level once a mission is over - at least, at the start. Due to Play by Post being extremely slow compared to an actual session at someone's house, I don't want to keep you guys too long in low levels. After all, the real fun starts in the higher ones. As for unconscious players, most people generally won't attack them. The real issue would attacks that target a group - but, for the sake of not kicking you guys when you're down, I'll consider "unconscious" people a separate group. Locale spells, however, will still fuck everyone up. Still, I'll allow for healing unconscious people with items and magic. Of course, they're still considered knocked out, even when the battle ends. And, as far as gaming goes, I'm a firm believer of karma. The teams at the moment look like this: Group 1 Naqel Krogothwolf Menarker Overcast Group 2 Krylo Phil Bard TAL |

Continuing from the previous thread:
Oh, right. Missed it when simply skimming over to trait descriptions. |

Edit: Reposting Truce's team list with links to character sheets:
Group 1 Naqel Krogothwolf Menarker Overcast Group 2 Krylo Phil Bard TAL Weeeellllp, I'm keeping agile anyway, because there's absolutely no other trait that would actually be useful to me, except maybe face in the crowd. There's no traits for thief/athletic skill checks. Though I'm not sure what one would actually USE a dex check for other than fleeing, now. Climbing and jumping about would be covered by athletics and climbing, respectively. Actually--it seems like the only one of the 'stat' traits that would be useful, if you can't use it for skill checks directly related to that stat, would be inhuman might, as strength seems to be the only stat that's actually used for anything without a skill (breaking shit).

Reflexes work for dodging stuff that could hurt you outside combat, so if you fail a trap disarm it saves your life.
Running can be also useful in those Indiana Jones boulder scenes... Plenty of reasons for a character with yours interests to keep the trait. |

It... doesn't actually say that, anywhere.
In fact, it never mentions how you dodge traps or non-combat things anywhere in the non-combat, combat, stats, or any other section I thought to check, and even in the dexterity section it doesn't suggest a roll for racing toward an objective. Just whomever has the higher dexterity score wins.

Page 70 lists outrunning someone, reflex, and catching stuff as example Dexterity checks/rolls.
Since they have to be used for something, I took a guess and assigned possible scenarios. I mean, there has to be SOMETHING you do with stat rolls for them getting traits. Non combat evasion seams logical for DEX. |

Man, it is so obvious this is an amateur endeavor. You look in one section and it's all like "No roll, just the dude with the highest dex." In another it's all like, "Yeah, that's a roll." Also, at the beginning of 'skills' is not where I'd expect to see a list of what attribute rolls are used for.
Ah well. At least it isn't the finished product, I guess. But yeah, like I said, I'll be keeping it anyway, as there's no trait for athletics or lock picking or stealth, so it still fits my concept the best and there's not much else that would be useful at this time.

Lone Wolf could be useful in the endeavor even if it requires you to be one of those kids of thieves. I don't figure anyone else would be coming with him to pick locks or disarm traps or sneak anywhere anyway.

It'd go counter to my concept though.
I don't want to be a dick.

Yeah that was what I figured. Ah well no use then, unless we get some house traits it will remain a bit uneven in the way that works.
