New CN toons are actually pretty decent
Generator Rex (Man of Action's second best idea) (premiers Friday after 8pm)
http://www.tv.com/generator-rex/show/77079/summary.html Ben 10 Ultimate Alien (Premiers Friday after 8pm)(They got Ben right this time) http://www.makli.com/ben-10-ultimate-alien-0031881/ Adventure Time (airs mondays at 8pm)(gets quite a bit of crap past the radar) http://www.cartoonnetwork.com/tv_sho...ime/index.html When it comes to toons Cartoon Network isn't half bad. It feels as though they are getting better. CN real is practically the new toonami now expect with live action shows. Anyway Adventure Time is pretty damn good. Lives up very nicely to the ridiculous amount of hype CN was giving it. I'm expecting this to be the next big cartoon. It really feels as though this show wasn't aimed at kids with some of the stuff they push under the radar. (like chowder this show isn't afraid to say die, kill, death, ect right out loud). The show is about a 12 year-old boy named Fin and his shape sifting talking dog Jake who go on adventures together. The show tries it's best to be as awesome as possible though this seems to fall flat from time to time. I give it a 9.7/10. It's pretty good and lives up to the hype. Next up is Ben 10 Ultimate Alien. From the previews (end how season 3 of Alien Force ended) Ben is pretty much a dick now. A very big dick. Kevin's powers are back to normal. Ben is now famous around the world and everyone on Earth knows his secret (and probably about the Plumbers too) and treats him like a super hero (which only makes is Jerkassery a bit worse). Though him being a jerk is just the byproduct of him letting his fame get to his head which he's been doing since the start season 3 of Alien force. (And after how the first 2 seasons of Alien Force turned out, the writers may keep him that way). I'm not going to rate this show till Friday when I see the 1st ep. And next is Generator Rex, which follows a similar formula to Ben 10 only the kid is a 15- 16 year-old teen bio weapon named Rex who's working for (and made by?) a top secret military unit with the power to create weapons and machines out of his body. The story centers around the Evos which are mutated life forms that have been running rampant all over the world and only Rex's powers to make/bend machines can turn them back to normal. From the previews, this shows looks to be the one of the best shows CN has ever had (seconded only to Megas XLR. Hell it might be even better the Megas XLR). Like Ben 10 UA, I'm not going to rate this one till it's out the door this Friday. All 3 shows have been hyped and advertised so much you'd have to not watch their network to not know about them. But only time will tell is CN will doom these shows like they did Megas and the others.

I love Chowder. Like, my roommate and I set aside time to watch it during the day (It helps that we have two TVs in the living room so we can still play Brawl/whatever, but still). Yet, I hate Adventure Time soooooooooo much. Something about the show just makes me frustrated whenever (1) a commercial comes on, and (2) when the show itself was actually playing.
I was only ever mildly interested in the original Ben Ten, and avoided BTAF after the first couple episodes failed to impress me. I'll probably try to catch an episode some time soon, see if I can't be persuaded to like it. Generator Rex is looking to be cool, though that might be my love of robots speaking. |

Adventure Time is fucking awesome and you are a terrible, terrible person for thinking otherwise. An ass-kicking kid with a shape-shifting dog fighting evil-doers!? Goldmine.

Nanites and mutants. Seems promising.
Also, apparently he has a talking monkey sidekick with an eyepatch and a fez. That's... something. I have no idea what to make of that. |

Chowder is weird & Generator Rex looks utterly stupid, no offense. But I'm right there with you on Adventure Time. John Dimaggio? Hilarious.

Well I saw both Ben 10 Ultimate Alien and Generator Rex yesterday.
Ben 10 ultimate Alien's premere episode was pretty decent and the up coming arc looks to be interesting. Though aside from that it seems to be following the same formula as Ben 10 Alien Force season 3. Also the Live action movie is canon as Ben drives the same car he got in that movie. 8.5/10 Generator Rex is looking to be a very interesting show. Within the first episode I learned who Rex is (an Evo much like all the other people who were infected who simply got lucky and was able to control the Nanites. And that he lost is memory 5 years ago when the Nanite explosion happened), that Prominence (the Organization he works for) seems to be hiding something from him (most likely Rex's true Identity), Rex isn't a Ben clone (thankfully), And that Agent Six is more Badass then I thought and Bobo is just plain awesome. The only problem I have with the first episode was that the plot seemed to be on fast forward. Other then that it was great. 9.9/10

For warning, although no plot spoilers, there will be some scene spoilers in this post as I recount some moment I liked
Didn't even bother catching Ultimate Alien, but because, the premise is so stupid. Especially with how the omnitrix is supposed to be a DNA encoded, how can you upgrade a DNA sequence. They had better toss in some limitations on it atleast because otherwise, why not always "go ultimate" Generator Rex I was looking forward to. It is good old American action cartoon. Prominence, which personally I love the name, is quite clearly not the most morally right group. It sounded like Rex was not the first, and that the previous ones have been killed. My guess is The Pack is why they took up that policy. I am just hoping it doesn't turn out they have some alterior motive and are actually evil. Be much better if Prominence does such things because they view its nessicary. Also like how they dont shy away from people dying. Like when Rex found out that it wasn't that Six was the only one they sent, he was just the only one that made it. Sure they weren't explicit but clearly implied. I do also love that monkey. Favorite line in that whole episode was his. With a smile on his face "oh dont ask me, I'm a bad influence"

Ben's reaction from going ultimate after changing back was "that felt weird" with a slightly unconformable expression. I'm guessing there's a side effect to going ultimate that'll surface by the end of the first season. It also seems there is something wrong with the ultramatrix since it locked up in yesterday's ep. And seems to malfunction in the next.
