Let's Voltron!!!!!
http://www.ugo.com/tv/voltron-remake-heads-to-tv
Thanks goes to RobinStarwing my good friend for mentioning it. Unlike the Thundercats remake this one seems to be much like what Speed Racer: The Next Generation was to Speed Racer. A new series/ascended fan sequel based on the original. Oh and there are plans for a live action Voltron movie. Not much known aside from that. So anyone smell a trend starting. And WHERE THE FUCK IS MY SWAT KATS REMAKE!!!!!!!!!!!

Am I the only one who thought The Third Dimension was actually okay? The new lion designs in it were pretty awesome, all told, and the 3D was actually well-modeled, if not necessarily animated as well as it could have been. Then again, I never really watched the original somehow.
At any rate, chalk one more up. This trend has been going on for a while now. It's only a matter of time before Bucky O'Hare hits the airwaves again. Not much else to say. It could be good, it could be bad. We have no info right now. On the plus side, making a new cast sidesteps issues where the old one would suffer changes.

... ... please... ANYway: I've not seen the new Voltron, but I enjoyed the old one when I was younger. And slightly off-topic again (Maybe? Is the topic on the trend of remakes or Voltron?) I don't know that they should re-make Swatkats, so much as re-release Swatkats, and maybe finish it. As I recall (though I could be wrong, it's been a while) it never had an ending. No, what they should really remake is David the Gnome*! *No, actually they shouldn't. They really, really shouldn't.

With all the time that's passes. It being remade and finished is a lot more likely to happen then it simply being finished.

Yeah, Swat Kats was pretty much just too awesome for Cartoon Network and was canceled so they could make way for more Scooby Doo under the excuse that it was "too violent."
Really, with the production quality, tone, and story it had, it was well above and beyond most other things at the time and would be pretty much right at home next to the new TMNT.

I watched both the old Voltron and the Third Dimension one. I found both very good but could of been better.
Which is why I oppose Nickelodeon doing ANYTHING with Voltron on the sheer principle that Nickelodeon sucks and has sucked for a while.

But... Avatar and Legends of Korra, Nick might actually pull this off. New Speed Race turned out good and is even getting another season (and bringing in the Original Speed into the plot in person).

The first strike in both was Spongebob Squarepants; a show that too this day I hate on the sheer principle of it's existence. Than came more stuff including copying Disney to make crap shows for teens. The only one who seemed to escape this was a gal who will forever be known to me for her segments on "Ask Ashley" on a skit show I can't even remember the name of...I believe her first name was Amanda and they gave her a show of her own that lasted for a bit. Than it left and Nick went downhill ever since. All I need for proof is the fact that my now deceased Grandmother on my mom's side watched and enjoyed Avatar while it was running on Nick and she hated Anime. O_O

Annnndddd it seems I was wrong. It takes place 5 to 7 years after the original show and the same characters are back (may be even same foes).
The show will be called Voltron: Force and will be airing on Nicktoon June 2011 which is this very year. Source: http://www.voltron.com/#/history/show/voltron-force
