Tech Support Firefox needs to stop changing the default font

So I literally updated Firefox 5 minutes ago and now all of the text on the forums is in this new default setup (I have no clue what the original was, but it was different).

Anyone know what the default font was back during 6.X? This sudden change is really bugging me.

Times New Roman?

Edit: Though, the forum ought to have a stylesheet which tells it what fonts to use.

Yup.
So if the fonts look different for you, your copy of FF either is ignoring the CSS or pulling the wrong fonts (either overriding settings or just being dumb about it?).

e: I just snagged v7 myself and so far it looks the same.

I just jumped from 4 to 7.

Why didn't I wait a week so my add-ons would've been up to date? Seriously, I hate not having all my extensions there to make my browsing experience that much less of a nightmare.

Default Versioning: Totes arbitrary.

They didn't want to seem "behind" Opera, MSIE, and Chrome.

Because the version progression of 4.X-> 5.X-> 6.X-> 7.X is obviously highly illogical and a conspiracy.

Anywho, jumping from 4 to 7 is always going to break something. Especially in the case of addons that don't sound like they've been keeping up with mozilla. Or cut down on the amount of addon being used. Less addons generally means less headaches. Majority of the addons just add more bloat to firefox' already hefty footprint.

Firefox actually has a pretty small footprint. The only reason it seems large is that it has ram caching on by default, but it's a simple boolean toggle in the options you can turn off. It makes it a bit slower and use a bit more HD space (as these are the reasons it is on by default, alongside making your HD work less/last longer, especially in the case of SSDs) but cuts the system footprint by a ton.

Not that it actually matters if you're using a computer under 10 years old, as even its large footprint from the RAM caching can be absorbed by most decent newer machines without incident, even while running games and what as well.

Chrome, at least, owes a large portion of its small footprint to having RAM caching off by default.

EDIT: On original topic, a system restart righted the fonts after updating for me, though I know what you are talking about, Aldie.

Default Yes, Mozilla. You totally need over agig of RAM to show one web page.

It does have the reputation of being dumb about it, though. If you just leave FF running and check your machine later, you'll see that it's just continued sucking up RAM like it's going out of style. Or at least it did. I have not checked this in versions past 4 (or 5?), as I don't leave the browser running when I am not using it and haven't been curious in a while.
