"They're Remaking Evil Dead" or "Evil Dead Without Starring Bruce Campbell"
Okay, so he's producing it, but still? Evil Dead? What's next? The Lone Ranger? Red Dawn?! That being said, I'm probably going to watch it. I'm just concerned that they'll leave out the important message that a charismatic hero with a minimal budget can make a cult classic at his parent's cottage with a few friends and replace that message with "HOLLYWOOD HORROR! Serious horror for real, guys. Are you scared yet?" |

I didn't want to be the one to break the news. Evil Dead, well I'm not saying you cant make a good remake. But I cant see them doing that while preserving what the movie was, so really whats the point of doing it in the first place.

I'll reserve judgement until after I've seen it. I've yet to be disappointed in a movie where Campbell has some involvement in and I don't really see this one breaking that trend.
That and this looks to be a decent return the good ol' over the top splatterhouse flicks. |

I know, miss. ;)
I'm somewhat concerned for this in that it looks to be an update on the special effects, where in the original, the low budget effects were part of the charm. I'm also afraid that this movie will take itself far too seriously. |

Archer and Armstrong vs. the World

The best volumes were Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness where it was basically about the humor, besides.
If Bruce Campbell makes some money as a producer then that's cool, though. |
