So Who's Buying Injustice?
I don't know whether this is a tournament fighter, like that Mortal Kombat/DC thing, or whether it's Marvel Heroes or DC Universe (which never worked for me.) Is anyone buying this? Is it... okay, gameplay/story wise? |

I haven't played it, but I watched a video game tournament of it in a video game themed resturant in Vancouver. Dunno about the story mode itself... but the gameplay was kinda fun to watch, although I admit the mechanics are honestly a bit generic. Some use of background objects for attacks, the occasional super move, occasional character specific gimmicks, but nothing really ground-breathing strikes me. (And I only seen each character having one particular super move, so it can get repetitive.) One part that is mildly interesting I suppose is the "wager" system where if the two players enter a "clash", they can bid portions of their super bar to try to win the clash, with the highest bidder dealing damage and get a bonus of sort (like some health regen or power boost).
To note, most of those images of the characters doing fancy stunts in that trailer you linked are during super moves that successfully connect (not dodged or blocked). Basically, if it connects, it does a non-interactive cut-scene where the damage is dealt. The graphics are NOT cinema quality during much of the actual gameplay. The fact that the trailer does not show the actual gameplay that the players actually experience the majority of the time during versus mode doesn't help sell the idea that the story mode might simply be tournament gameplay with some movie scenes in between each one. Personally, I'd only advise a rental at first. Last edited by Menarker; 04-18-2013 at 05:53 PM. |

Sorry, sorry, Injustice lost my attention somewhere around "video game themed restaurant".
Tell me more about that. |

Here is the link to the website
Basically, it's a restaurant/bar with a massive wide screen TV (Floor to ceiling) for those seated around the center and several small TVs for those seated around the wall (about one per table on the wall) all of those connected to a video game seated right beside the bar. In the past, there was no gaming allowed due to some outdated law stating that you can't have gaming (gambling) in a facility that sells alcohol (I'm a bit sketchy on the exact details) and the place would just have trailers of popular games that was being sold on the screen. However, they found a loophole where games could be played so long as it wasn't in the dining area. Anyhow, all the meals are named after gaming icons, like Triforce burger (Zelda), Togepi virgin cocktail (Pokemon), Super Smash Nachos (Super Smash Bros) and so on. Nice place, although I wish they still had the Donkey Kong Banana Fritters which they don't seem to have anymore (but replaced with a creme brule with a donut inside which is also tasty). They might have changed a few other foods in the menu since I was there only twice, once when they were still new and testing things out and last Tuesday when the Injustice game came out and they were having a tourney (and I came unaware of the tourney) But yeah, they also have video game tournaments, events and other gaming related stuff there, hence my seeing the Injustice tourament there on the day it was released. They had perks to people who dressed up as DC characters and so. Place was filled up to the brim. Hey Seil, maybe we can meet up there one day and have a drink. =3 Last edited by Menarker; 04-18-2013 at 06:23 PM. |

I have the demo and it's pretty fun, but I don't feel like it's $60 fun, and I'm just now getting on the ball about practicing Skullgirls to add another fighting game to learn right now.
Maybe I'll pick it up when the price drops in a month or two.

The story behind that restaurant sounds a little like Poker Night At The Inventory.
That's an amusing menu, and it looks nice. Though... I dunno about "Vegeta Burger". Either way, I really wish I knew about a video game-themed restaurant here in the sates. |

Oh, man. My brother lives in Seattle. I bet he'd love to go to that restaurant next time he takes a trip up to Vancouver.
Triforce Burger sounds divine. Last edited by Magus; 04-19-2013 at 08:43 PM. |
