Half-Life 2 first reviews!
Not sure if any of you caught this, but Half-Life 2 has been getting its first reviews out. PC Gamer UK gave it a 96% making it a tie for PC Gamer UK's highest-rated game ever with... Half-Life 1!
Even more exciting, from PC Gamer US -- a 98%!!!: http://www.evilavatar.com/modules.ph...ticle&sid=6376 From the review: Pros - "Everything: Graphics, plot, gameplay. Its what experts have been predicting for this medium" Lows - "Squadmates sometimes get in your way; low res textures in huge outdoor scenes" "Valve has forged the framework for the next generation of games, demonstrating what our medium can and should be able to accompolish" "An exhilarating entertainment that can emotionally move you one moment, kick ******* the next, and keep you immersed the whole time." I cannot wait. DROOL.

Wow, 98%s are far and few between in PC Gamer (proud subscriber here )
HL2 is already on the list of pricey things I shouldn't buy since i'm at college but will anyways. Ditto for Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines (source engine + my fav rpg = great fun) But honestly, were we expecing anything but greatness?

An odd e-mail exchange between him and Scott of VGcats. Apparently, he has a history of insanity. Last edited by darkt0aster; 10-09-2004 at 12:41 AM. |

Actually I think the only other game that's every got a 98% from them is their highest-rated game ever, Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri. This would make HL2 tied for highest-rated game ever in both PC Gamer UK and PC Gamer US.
Sweet, sweet Half-Life.

Good thing I inevitably get motion sickness from First Person games.
Guess I'll buy one of those mousepads with "BANG HEAD HERE" on them instead. |

Lost In Time: I agree with that statement so much that it terrifies me.
