So we are clear

odd music playing in my head
ok ever have one of those moment where, for some reason music is playing in your head like background music, but at the same time makes no sence. For example, I was browsing pictures and the theme for mortal combat from the original star trek kept popping in. Which made it odd since there was zero combat in anything I was looking at

Whenever I play slayer matches in any halo game, the song Popcorn always inevitably comes to mind. No idea what triggers that one in particular. It's like my mind has gaming seizures, but with cheesy techno instead of smelling burnt toast! And also not seizures.

There's always music going in my head. I'm an incredibly acoustic learner. Usually it's some made-up riffs I occasionally perk up and realize I'm making up on the spot without even trying to.
Right now there's the refrain from a very rave/house song my brother made. A minute before, a short unfinished tune of his was going in circles. Earlier today Flying Foxes by Moby occupied the background static of my mind for the better and worse halves of an afternoon. Huh. And now something by Foo Fighters just picked up for some reason.

If I really want to listen to a song, it plays in my head. Fills up the extra space. Only time I hate it:
When I can't remember the words/tune! |

This usually happens everyday with (at least) a song that was playing on the radio on the way to school, which stays with me for around an hour or 2.
Then there's times when I just get some random tune. Like yesterday when, for no reason at all, the music that plays when Kuja's there in FFIX starting playing. And I have a habit of listening to the same songs over and over again so now there are certain songs that I associate with or remind me of something.

More often than not, while I'm awake, my background music has some connection to the situation or something I heard recently, however loose. When I'm asleep, however, my brain goes on shuffle.
That said, the background music from Teen Girl Squad has a tendency to get stuck in my head randomly, as do other things I can't recall at the moment. |
