Knights of the realm chapter 6: When fuzzy got tired of waiting for Raiden

OOC: Sorry Raiden, I got bored. So yeah, new one cause last one hit post limit.

IC: Damion glances back towards the gate to find his friends heading quickly down the road. He smiles and turns back to the task at hand.

The magi have retreated a few paces and are preparing another salvo of magic induced destruction. Can't have that now can we? Hmmm, time to throw something big. Damion turns and grabs the support pillar for a nearby overhanging balcony. Luckily, the balcony is made of stone. When Damion pulls on the pillar, the balcony collapses, raining stone and debris down upon the soldiers and magi attacking him. In the confusion, Damion drops his avatar and sprints towards the nearest allyway with sufficient shadowing to allow him to shadow slide.

Just as he reaches the entrance to the alley a salvo of arrows ricochet off the stone around him while one or two slam into his back with a dull thumping sound. He stumbles into the ally, where he promptly shadow slides.

He finds himself in a green field well outside the city. Apparently, the blight that has overtaken the city has not touched this place. For it is free of the feeling of oppression. Damion spies a well off in one corner of the field and drags himself towards it. The arrows in his back have begun to burn with pain and he is having trouble maintaining his balance. He finally reaches the well and braces himself against it for support. He draws up a bucket of water and begins the painful process of removing the arrows. First, he breaks off the feathered shafts. Then he pushes the arrow out through his chest and rinses the wounds with the water from the well. The pain is excruciating but finally he is finished. He tears up a spare pair of pants for bandages, then picks himslef up and heads towards the nearest batch of shadows, a copse of Oak trees near the center of the field. He steps into them and is gone.

(OOC: I was waiting for AB to post his character breaking the gate before making a new thread. A whole 'finishing the last before starting the next' thing. But, yeah, what's done is done, so we'll move on from here.)

Adellah had managed to destroy the gate after everyone had gotten through, and the group were running like hell down the street, trying to be clear from view of the city.

After nearly an hour of running, the group finally stopped to take a break. Thomas looked around at his group.

"Is everyone alright? Nothing missing, nothing pierced, nothing needing to be replaced?"

Adellah wasn't too winded. She had strength, but athletics was where she really excelled. "We can't rest for long. The moment they fix the gate...and the mechanisms...and remove the bodies we dropped in the way, they're gonna run us down with their cavalry. There has to be a faster way to get out of here."

"We could always hide somewhere, leave one person as bait, then when the cavalry comes, we slaughter them and take their horses. I volunteer to be the bait."

"I'd rather not try to face down an Englasian calvary." Nathaniel said. "Assuming they'll send Englasians at us. I think hiding would be the more prudent course of action."

Nathaniel shook his head. "I think sleep would be a good idea, as well. I haven't had any since we got captured."

Thomas looked at the sky. It had been morning when they left, and it was late morning now.

"Didn't Damion leave a note for us, telling us to meet him somewhere? I'm pretty sure he wants us to meet him at a spot. It should be safe. We can rest when we get there."

Adellah frowned, but then shrugged. "I guess I have to give that one to you. Considering how many of the guard we have taken down and given that we're still an immediate threat to the king at the moment, the force that'll actually come out to get us won't be very large. If we can get off the main route, we can probably dodge or destroy any search parties they send after us."

"My head hurts a bit guys could you please settle down your voices." A sudden shift seemed to happen in his reality as he stared into darkness.

"Having a headache Niall? Oh you poor Child..." Said a large dark figure ahead of him.

Niall looked up in half anger and pain, "Shutup Rannir. Ahh Natures Fury my head. Where's Kuin?"

"He should be arriving soon. That psycho. What happens to the human mind after so long in nothingness." Says the large figure named Rannir coming out of the dark. He was about three feet higher than Niall with red hair. His eyes were empty and he had a massive flaming sword in his right hand. He was dressed in an armor that seemed to be similar to that of a samurai. His skin itself was red and he wore a giant yellow smile on his face.

"It ki-ki-kills the m-m-mind Rannir you of all p-p-people should Kn-n-now that." said a little man about five feet smaller than Niall with the same robe but the potions seemed to give off an aura. He looked about human with black hair and brown eyes that were glazed over. He didn't seem to carry a weapon at all and his shortness seemed to be exaggerated by the robe.

"So we are all here to talk of the day coming soon Niall." Said Rannir with that huge smile still plastered there.

""Y-y-es Niall Bloomin-n-ng D-d-ay" Said the man Kuin in his unusually nervous stutter.

Niall looked up, "I didn't know it was that close. But I guess I must keep up to my side of the bargain. How soon till Blooming Day?"

Rannir still smiling came down and said, "Very soon and it is time you chose which of us get's to have Blooming Day and the other will have to wait till Harvest Day till he get's his chance."

Kuin looked even more nervous, "P-p-please p-p-pick me N-niall I p-promise not t-t-t-to k-k-k-k-murder anyone this time."

"Not a chance. You may be my human side but your last Blooming day still haunt's me not even Rannir mad as much damage as I saw that day." Niall said angrily.

Rannir frowned, "Outdone by a human this embarrasses me. Nonetheless I get control this time right."

Niall still didn't seem happy as he said, "Yes you get control."

Kuin looked sad, "D-d-damn y-y-you Niall. C-c-could of gotten a girl this t-t-time." He referred to one of the girls on the Knights.

"This meeting is over. With no further movements to be discussed you are all ajorned." said Rannir happily as the world came back into existance in Niall's eyes.

To the others it looked like he had just collapsed and where he was then he wasn't sure. "Sorry about that comrads. Needed my beauty sleep you know."
