Winter Court, Kyuden Doji: A warm welcome.
Mirumoto Raiden straightened his bamboo jingasa. The cone shaped has blocked the rain from his face and neck. Unlike most of the guests to the winter court, Raiden refused to be carried in a carriage. He walked beside the carriage of some of the more proven members of the dragon enclaive. The dragon always appeared to have a scorn for these events, the truth was they had other concerns. Thier aloof nature did hurt them however.
The gaudy city around Kyuden Doji reflected the decdent nature of the Crane. Raiden would be happy to get inside and to change into dry clothing. The Mirumoto house gaurds seemed to have a similar feeling to their master. The troops respected the young Chui, but they knew he was their leader more out of ceremony. They moved to the the buildings the crane had given to the enclaive of dragon ambassadors. The servants set the carriages down. The elderly Daimyo of the Agasha was the first to get out of his. He was a short elderly man. "Raiden-san, these are the buildings we will be staying in." the Daimyo said. "Yes Agasha-sama." "Typical Crane extravagance." The buildings were fairly non descript and functional, but compared to the spartan almost monkish lifestyle of the Dragon clan these buildings were gaudy like most of the Crane architecture. Agasha Yama wore a simple green kimono. His hair was snow white, and his skin was weathered. He was the leader of the Dragon ambassadors for this Winter Court.

The approach to the palace had been long and exciting for Kuni Asukane. Sitting in the room given to him as a member of the Crab enclaive, Asukane reflected on his role in the enclaive. As a Kuni Shugenja, it was his responsibility to his clan to not show his face before children and the elderly, as he had been cursed with such ugliness that most children and elderly faint when they see him. He must also not speak to his ancestor in public as he was prone to do. Generally, he was to leave everything to the real negotiators for the clan and just do as they say, incase a show of magic will be needed to impress the empress. Heh, what a time to start rhyming again.

Izumi Shojo had been sitting in her room patiently for some time now. The emaculate rooms given right away to her and her fellow Scorpion clan members offered no real time to be able to explore the city or the palace. She was instructed to wait for the Empress' summons and nothing more. While sitting on her large bed, her brother Koji had decided to make an appearance. Izumi, I cannot believe that you have come here. "Be silent Koji, I will do as the Daimyo instructs. You had better not make an appearance at the gathering tonight, people will think that I am strange because I am talking to myself."

Raiden sat in meditation at a temple near the alotted space. He hadn't wanted to come, but his father was grooming him to be the leader of the political arm. His brother was now the general of the Dragon. A job he was well suited for.
While Raiden had some skill in the court. Politics is not where his heart was. He could feel a compulsion to to the holy mountain. A longing to see the High House of Light. These thoughts troubled the young samurai. He had a job to do. He sighed and tried to focus harder to clear his mind.

Yoshi (First japanese name to come to mind...) sat in his carriage heading towards the the city where he was going. He had been requested there by the empress, though he wasn't sure why. All he knew was he better be on his best behavoir less his head be chopped off, which Yoshi did not want. As he got closer to that city, he kept making sure he looked as neat as possible.
Edit - I guessed on the city.

Hantei the 21 first beamed happily as her finely decorated carriage arrived. Peeking out of one of the windows, she saw a multitude of people staring at her carriage. Before anyone could see her, she sat back up, keeping her back straight, as she was taught to all of her life. Her silky black hair was tied back into a fancy bun on the back of her head. As her carriage stopped, she smoothed out her Kimono. Somebody opened the door of her carriage for her and led her out. She enjoyed being the center of attention, so she kept her head high and strode through the doors of the building.

"Mirumoto Raiden!" Kakita Satsume yelled from the steps of the temple. Raiden opened his eyes and stood. He walked away from the shrine. He looked with narrowing eyes upon the white haired duelist.
"I will have satisfaction, Dragon." Satsume said. His hand creeped to the hilt of his Katana. Raiden drew both his swords. Satsume rushed at Raiden. Raiden took his stance. (Initiativde R: 15 S:7 Normal attack. two raises to disarm Tn to succeed 30, 1 void point to raise agility. 7 dice: 2, 3, 4, 7, 7, 9, 17 keeping 4: 7+7+9+17= 40. Success.) Kakita Satsume began to draw his sword. The blade cleared the saya when Raiden caught the Tsuba with the blades of his swords. The shock knocked the katana out of the samurai's hands. Raiden adjusted his feet and pointed his katana at Satsume's chest. A few of the Mirumoto house gaurd saw their commander and his opponent. They moved to encircle Kakita Satsume. "Get out of here, Satsume-san" Raiden said. "I will not dishonor my ancestors by spilling your blood in their shrine." "I'll be back, Dragon." Satsume said as he picked up his katana and put it back in his saya. "And you will not survive next time." Raiden sheathed his swords.

The weather was anything but cheery and large droplets of water exploded against Taken's face and hair as he walked through the city streets, leaving the ronin soaked from head to toe.
A hand moved through his wet hair, brushing it back from deep brown eyes, as he surveyed the street and glanced down at his invitation once again. An invitation to the empire, it was odd to say the least, for a ronin to receive such honor, but Taken was blind to the oddity as his arrogance had convinced him quite quickly that he deserved it. So instead of pondering on it, he simply looked back toward the streets, searching for an inn. After some time, he had found a shanty that had a room for rent, and walked in out of the rain, once again brushing the hair back from his face before moving toward the man who seemed to be the owner. After a quick exchange, in which he paid the man, Taken gained his room and retired to it.

The imperial heralds of the Miya family sent messages to those lucky few invited to dine with the emperess. The message said her imperial had arrived. The dinner would begin in two hours time.
