So whats left? There has to be good anime I haven't already seen! Anyone know any good shows they'd recommend? I'll watch almost anything as long as it doesn't get too fanservicey or too girly. Your hero is in need! Help!

-Baccano! (an anime set in the Prohibition-era that is done like a Tarintino on heroin laced with cocaine)
-Darker than Black (fucking awesome action with some WTF moments)
-Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (Watch it! FOR IT SHALL MAKE YOU CRY TEARS OF MANLINESS!!!! ALSO DRILLS!!!!..... JUST WATCH IT!!!)
-Ghost Hound (beautiful supernatural thriller with a psychology flavor mixed in)
-Noein (awesome sci fi action with a quantum mechanics tweest)
-Black Lagoon (yarr harr fiddle dee dee a pirate's life is a life for me....)

I would recommend Evangelion, but to be fair, it's not for everyone and you're going to end up hating it if you are like pretty much everybody else in this forum.
Shaman King is very good too.

I'm sure I'm missing some, so I'll come back later after I go through my repertoire. Also, wow, I pretty much mentioned stuff from before 2000. I feel old.

While we're at it, I would highly recommend Gunslinger Girl. Very tragic storyline, excellently told. Even the dub is cared well for. I was pleased.

I, I liked Evangelion.

I did scare myself a while ago by rewatching the last two episodes and understanding them though.

I would second Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Cowboy Bepop and Cardcaptor Sakura too.

I can't comment on the other suggestions, on account of not having seen them.

The problem with Chobits is that the anime is full of filler. Like, two-thirds of it in a 24~ episode series. The manga is way better at keeping its pace.

It would have been farther down, but other shows that beat it had already been named...

The DMC anime is pretty decent.

I am also sad that I forgot to mention Excel Saga and Puni Puni Poemy, though you should make sure you're not easily offended before watching the latter.
