Members List
Has anyone else taken some time just to look through the members list? It's surprising to see how many people have signed up, have avatars and custom user titles and yet have never, ever posted. Some of the names and pictures are actually quite good.
Do you think the regulars scare people away? Do they sign just to say 'I signed up to Nuklear Power!' Do people not think it worth their time? Discuss.

Well, for the ones that are nothing more than names(like Keiru used to be), they probably never got a confirmation E-mail or somethin'. Ones that actually have avatars and all the like, they probably forgot they signed up, or forgot their passwords after their first log-in; either way, they're dumbasses. Or maybe they just want to take up a user-name so some uncreative foo' can't use that name.

Hmmm lets see I looked through the entire list and found out this.
3289 members total (100%) 1089 members have never posted (33%) 2477 members have less than 10 posts (75%) 3069 members have less than 100 posts (83%) I am 3237 from the bottom (In the top 2%) IHATEMAKINGNAMES is #1 (the .03%). I knew he was high but he's #1 overall. Wow that's some statistics. I didn't look at all the join dates but only 1/4 have over 10 post. Edit:Hey I just noticed RaiRai is directly above me in the post count by 5 posts. Last edited by h4x.m4g3; 07-26-2004 at 02:02 AM. |

Or maybe they don't have enough time to come here - work can bea real pain, as anybody who's worked before knows. Maybe they were from another MB and signed up to NPF for a lark, and were ready to start contributing, then they found out they preferred their parent MB better, and couldn't be bothered to follow through.

Maybe some of them just didn't want to wait until they had something pressing to say and signed on right away.
If this thing doesn't log out automatically, I never really logged out and I forgot my password. Dumbass indeed.

Here's a statistic. IHMN has a average post count of 35.something per day. With my average being around 4 post per day, he posts more in one day than I do in a whole week!

I think some newcomers might be turned away if/when they see all the mistakes other new members have made and how people crack down on them. Some people might leave then come back later, I know I made 1 or 2 post then stayed off the forums for about 6 months (which sucks because my average post per day is way too misleading now). But now I am very active. |
