Doctor Who on American TV again
http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/index...ory=0&id=34141
...now let's hope that they don't do any creative editing to make it more appealing to an American audience... or a time slot that is destined to be riddled with commercial breaks.

If it's the new Doctor Who with Christopher Eccellson, then it really fuggin' kicks ass. We had the series earlyer last year and is well worth watching.

Yes, it's the Eccleston series (Season 27, if you wanna get technical). I've been very impressed at how well they've brought the series into the 21st century without sacrificing the things that made the classic series so great. Fortunately it's done in 45-minute-ish segments, so putting it in an hour long block on Sci-Fi channel shouldn't be too difficult... unless they decide to trim additional footage in order to have more time for commercials.
Myself, I've been utilizing one of the etherweb layers of the intersyscomhypernet to procure episodes of the show since last year. I'm not gonna wait a whole year just to watch television from across the pond. Apologies to the BBC. I was gonna buy the DVD Tardis-shaped box set - cuz, y'know, I'm totally gay about stuff like that - but due to the deal with the Sci-Fi channel, its stateside release date has been pushed back from late winter to early/mid summer. Dammit.
