I'm ashamed that such a powerful and superior phenomenon like Firefox could be bastardised by this thread.

But, yes--firefox is, really, really good.

Well, I use it here at school, and it runs kinda slow(though my computer takes 5 minutes to boot up, so it might be an extension of that). My teacher says the main reasion we use it is because so few people use, there are almost no viruses formated to affect it.

Eh, each browser has it's specific strengths and weaknesses. Firefox is a pretty good browser, it's just bloated as all hell and really starts to drag down older systems. It practically makes my computer unusable after about an hour or so. In fact, I prefer to use Opera instead. It's a lot lighter and quicker than Firefox.

As a browser, its fine enough. However, it isn't all that great when it comes to downloading. At least for dial-up, which I have. (The only other option is sat, which really isn't an option.)

Anyway, if you pause you might as well cancel. If you lose connection, Firefox will *NEVER* pick up where it left off (unlike IE). Also, I liked how IE's cache could be found & you'd be able to acquire various files such as Mov files without having the registered version of Quicktime.

the solution to that? get a line that won't get disconected. seriously. we live in the 21st century, theres no need to be "dialing" anyone for the internet, we are not savages.

oh yeah, and firefox is fantastic, i love it so.

I don't see what the big hype about Firefox is. I tried it a couple of times on a friend's computer, but it didn't make me go "wow, I NEED this!" or anything. IE runs smoothly and is dependable, so I see no reason to switch at the moment.

I'm lucky to even *HAVE* semi local dial-up internet access. And that's only with Earthlink, beyond that I've got litterally *NO* choices of anything local. So I'll complain if I damn want too...

I'm in the "Can't use Firefox so I use Opera instead." camp.
