Making Animated .GIFs

My girlfriend wants to know, in her words, "how to make words blinky." So, yeah. How does one go about that?

Blinky? As in blinky like those annoying as hell banners that give us all epileptic seizures? Ah........Tell her to open and close her eyes real quick and save us all the pain of yet another blinky gif.

Asshole skweeb aside, it involves making each individual frame and then using a program to arrange them into an animation for saving into .gif format.

I don't think she want's it that blinky. She hates those things. What sort of program could she could use?

Does she want "blinky" or "blingy"? 'Cause blink can be achieved on the intarweb without a gif file. Blingy, on the other hand, requires something like Photoshop and ImageReady.

You want an animation program. Just Google "animator" and see what you find.
