Trinity Blood
Alright, I found this series to be quite interesting. I first noticed this series when Adult Swim was showing their Saturday Schedule. I thought the series is going to be interesting because I always look forward to new series that debut on Adult Swim. Last Friday, I noticed that their was an ad for Trinity Blood on the lastest issue of Fangoria.
I thought to myself "Hm.. A vampire anime, interesting.", and started watching it when it came on Saturday. Now, I really don't know much about this anime since this was the first I ever heard of it, and also I only know of what was shown on Saturday. In my opinion, the priest shown in the first episode is like a Vash clone. Only difference is that this guy went into "badass" mode way earlier than Vash did. The only thing I found to be interesting was the "Cruznik" concept. I personally thought it was genious. How something was above the food chain that fed on the blood of vampires. A similar thing was done for Blade 2 I think, but I still thought it was awesome. I also started this thread since noone else bothered (probably because everyone was preoccupied with Bleach..). Anyway, your thoughts on this? |

I like it, but judging by the promo I am questioning if that priest is even the main character. I mean he never appears in the promo

It is a pretty good anime. I have seen the sub and it kept me interested. Father Nightroad is pretty much a clone of Vash. The only difference is that he isn't as funny as Vash is. Overall it is still interesting though.
Gunslinger is my favorite. He should be in the next episode.

The first episode looked good. It had good animation, and I really liked the characters, especially the Vatican woman-person.
The priest doesn't seem like a Vash clone, although the parallels are strong. For one thing, he sucks at fighting as a human. For another, he cares less about the lives of the people on the plane and more about justice (killing the vampire). He's 'good' in a way that isn't emotional. Also, the vampire was stupid.

Well, seeing it as how Kiku describes the priest, the first thing that comes to mind is Ra's al Ghul in Batman Begins. His top priority is justice and the overall balance of society. Then again, only reason he didn't show such concern is because he said he had "faith". Another main difference between them are their weapon of choice. The priest had the fuggin' sweetest scythe I've ever seen.
Also, to put it straight-forward, the pope is just a big pussy... |

Yeah, the pope is still just a kid.
As the series goes on later you see he puts the people before his wellfare. He is more concerned about them than justice.

whats the deal with the pope anyways? I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure its impossible to even reach priest at that age.

By the looks of it, that woman in the red is the one making the decisions or influencing the Pope's decisions. That was what I can tell from the first episode anyway.. Last edited by Savage Thinking; 09-14-2006 at 10:36 AM. |

I find myself enjoying this show. Maybe its because I haven't seen Trigun in a long time, but I didn't note too many balant similarities between Vash and Father Nightroad...but now that you mention it, I can see a few, but, so far at least, Nightroad is hardly a clone.
