Boston Legal
Tuesday nights, 10:00 PM, ABC. Watch it.
Some of the best writing and acting on television, probably the best writing and acting on any network, excepting HBO/Showtime/blah blah blah. William Shatner, Candice Bergan, and James Spader are all fantastic. Also, it has Ordo, from Deep Space Nine. Except he's a lawyer. And not a shape-shifter. And in Boston. |

I swear to God, it must be the best show ever.
I haven't even watched it. I walked in when my grandmother was watching an episode, and one of the guys was in a Buzz Lightyear suit. "You've Got A Friend In Me" started playing. I was going to question what was happening, but I think it would have broken the magic.

And you know what's amazing? While on any other show, that scene would have instantly degenerated into the lowest kind of emotionally manipulative, cliched, derivative tripe, it actually came off sincere on Boston Legal. Which is, quite frankly, shocking, in the context of contemporary American network TV, anyway.

Agreed. It actually made the scene feel more heartfelt when I figured out exactly why he was walking around a lawyer office hub in a Buzz Lightyear suit, and not just because it provokes Dude Where's My Car-esque laughter.
