My webcomic, Final Blasphemy. Read, enjoy, and stuff...
Hi, folks. I'm new here, and want to plug my work, hosted by the good people at Drunk Duck. I hope you find it a cut above the usual spritely fare around there...
This here link'll get'cha to the first Issue! I must caution you all of a few things before you get into it: 1. It's comic BOOK formatted not the usual comic strip fare. That means I (try to) update it once a month with around 23 pages of content. It was a strip early in its existence, though, and the first four Issues consist of the strips' storylines. 2. This work is on an epic scale and there are subplots cropping up all over the place. I'm kinda ADD like that, but toward the end of what I have thus far made, they are starting to converge. 3. Though far from complete, I have a lot of content... This comic is, even in its infant state, HUGE! I do not recommend reading through the entire thing in one sitting unless you really have nothing better to do with your day... an issue per sitting will probably suffice. Maybe a few sittings for the most recent, "Special" issue. Anyway, with all that in mind, read on. I hope you enjoy it! And please give feedback! |

Interesting, as far as I have read it...
Just don't drop it in the middle of a story line, will ya? It really ticks me off when someone does that...

Wow, a decent-from-the-start comic for a change. This is new and interesting.
I haven't read everything, but you could do with two things - Larger sprites and backgrounds to go with the text. Notice the sizing on 8bit Theatre - unless it's important or one of those 'meanwhile...' jokes, the characters are very 'centerpiece'. Having the text so large and so obtrusive makes the comic a bit too, well, too prose for a comic. Also: Blambot.com and go get a new font. Seriously man, bleurgh. I'll take a look at it later. I have cleaning to do. Impressed so far. We don't get 'decent from the get-go' around here much. EDIT: Oh oh oh, don't forget to double check your grammar. I noticed a few "with you're trying to..." typos. Remember: Contractions are two words sandwiched together, so it'd be "You are", and you meant "Your," like "That's your food."

Another thing, when you have a six or eight panel format, don't leave out a panel just because you don't have anything else to say. Find a way to either add additional content, make one of the panels bigger (this would also allow you to make the characters bigger in that panel, as Mirai suggested above), or leave one panel on the cutting room floor.

You could also try what Brian does: Have a black background, and make a template of a certain size (Much much bigger than what you have here). Then just make the panels as big as you want, and have them intersect each other if needed.

Hi, folks. Have been tremendously busy at home as always. I was hoping to get a Christmas issue out, but it didn't really work out (there is, however, a single-page Christmas... story, for those of you who can't get out of the spirit... two months later. Just go back one page from the forth-coming link).
Thank you very much for all the suggestions. I've been trying to figure out some form of template to use, but I admit I never devote enough time to figuring one out. I checked out Blambot, but I'm sad to say I did not find a font that suited my tastes... perhaps I did not look hard enough? I picked the one I use because it seemed legible and maybe just a hint like something that would be found in a video game, given that (thus far, at least), the comic primarily focuses on them... mostly for its legibility, though. In terms of suggestions I actually acted upon... well, I was much more meticulous in my grammar/spelling/general coherence editing this time around. Sometimes I just get so excited about the prospect of putting an issue out that I am not nearly thorough enough about it. Not this time, though. This time I hope I didn't miss anything. Anyway, Issue 11 can be reached here! Read! Enjoy! Give opinions! Maybe this time, I'll do the polite thing and reply! |

I can't wait for the next update! I got sucked up in the story for the two days I spent reading it. Also, I'm still wondering what side Kefka is really on. But man, that is ONE interesting idea. Too bad it won't happen in 'real' life...

A bit of thread necromancy, I guess.
Not too bad. The sprite work and writing have improved drastically, and it's pretty good now.
