So I'm thinking about trying out the beta, as I've heard good things. Heard it works better than Vista, and uses less resources. Anyone tried it yet? Your thoughts?

So, does Windows 7 spy on you, delete things it doesn't like, downgrade video quality unless you buy the more expensive "Don't fuck up my videos" version, or keep you from writing to the C drive when it gets pissy at you?

'Cause that'd be quite the improvement if they cut that stuff out.

Not sure yet. Backing up my computer, then gonna perform a complete wipe with a linux live cd, then gonna install it.

Tell me if they've improved compatibility any. I'll likely be upgrading when it comes out if they have. As well as for other reasons that are important to me if there are any strides made in those areas.

It seems it sends you a lot fewer alerts all the time. Yay.

Important Note: You need Vista SP1 to try the Beta. Sorry XP users...

I intend to try it though. It looks really nice.

I was under the impression you could install the beta just like any other OS...

If that's the case, NMR, then I guess I can say goodbye to testing it out on my netbook.

Oh, I was under the impression it just installed like a regular OS as well. Damn. Still gonna try it though.
