Fallout 3 DLC
Operation: Anchorage, the first of three proposed additions for FO3, came out today for 800 MS points. Your character takes part in a simulation of the liberation of Anchorage, Alaska from communists.
My overall impression: I wasn't very impressed and didn't see myself wanting to complete it multiple times for each of my characters other than to get the items. The items you get are neat (the perk isn't), but the gameplay is linear. Stuff I liked: The new items: Stealth Suit: +15 sneak, makes you invisible when you crouch. Looks cool. Gauss Rifle: Sniper rifle for energy weapons. Holds one shot at a time. Uses microfusion cells Trench Knife: OK, I don't really like this one. It sucks. Jingwei's Shock Sword: Chinese Officer Sword with electricity. Weaker than Shishekab but still cool Winterized T-51b Power Armor: White power armor. What I didn't like: No Liberty Prime It's linear The new perk: You get it for completing a side objective. It adds +1 to each skill. Glowing interactive objects: I played the entire game without ammo/grenades/mines/guns glowing at me, I don't need it now. Health/Ammo stations: No stimpaks, you get your health from refill stations placed periodically through the map. Same for ammo, and each gun has a limited max ammo in the simulation except for two: you find a small amount ammo for those next to the ammo refill station, plus some grenades/mines |
