I'm thinking that probably Drizzl didn't think this through. I'm not sure what Black Mage who is really Fighter, Bladeless Hilts, and Red Mage whose only high stat is Charisma are going to be able to do here.

Granted, the evil money monster might be able to do something... but I doubt it.

EDIT: Okay, literal being based on their actual nightmares makes sense. I wonder if this will be the return of the Fiends. Black Mage, Red Mage, and Thief each had a [near] death experience from Lich, Ur, and Muffin, respectively, so they might be among their worst nightmares. Kary would be Fighter's, I guess. Or maybe a clown trying to wash them. (I have no idea why that scene from The Brave Little Toaster didn't scare me as a child, but does now.)
