The story so far...?
So Im new, and not much of a comic fan, nor reading lol, and Ive been through the first 270 pages or so of the 8-Bit Theatre... I doubt I'd ever be able to read that many pages of comics, and like this whole theme and whatnot, and was wondering if someone could tell me the story so far of this comic, so I can begin reading the newer comics, so thanks to anyone who helps to fill me in

Hmm, wow. I keep thinking, but this is actually pretty hard to do. Have you played FF1? That should help you get a general idea of what has happened.... sort of. My recommendation? Go to the story arcs thread and maybe just start reading at the latest story arc -- you'll still be jumping into the middle of things, but at least you'll be heading into the same plotline. Then, if you come across something you don't understand, check out the Sardapedia, it has great information on the different characters and so on that might help you out.
It's not that I'm trying to be difficult, I just have no idea how to summarize 1140 comics with it still somehow making sense.

Tip, switch Thief for Black Belt, FF1 is funnier this way.
And answering your question, they are at the end game (which according to Brian he wont do the last part because its stupid) but basically they have all orbs and ALLEDGELY are at the end battle

He's finishing the comic, just not in the same way the game ended.

You could check the Wikipedia article for a plot summary, but you're missing out on the defining characteristics of the comic. Still, if you absolutely can't be bothered, read that summary and imagine every storyarc drawn out to twice its normal length because everyone is a raging incompetent.

I dunno. I mean, the comic is pretty long, but most of it could just be skipped over to the information relevant to the current comic. I think that, in a nutshell...
Light warriors were sent on a quest to save the world from "Chaos" whom they have yet to see or hear anything about since the comic started. At one point WM points them towards Sarda, who tells them they have to get the elemental orbs from the fiends. After much mutiny and such, they manage to pull that off and Sarda sends them to the Temple of Fiends where they've got to... kill the fiends or some such. Along the way, there was a recurring joke where they accidentally ruined Onion Kid's life every single place they went. When they get to the temple of fiends, they get into a fight with the fiends and the dark warriors after lots of odd things happening, and then Sarda shows up out of nowhere. Apparently he is a future Onion Kid that went back in time to make the light warriors suffer, revenge for how they killed his parents. And his foster parents. And his other foster parents. Then burned down his orphanage. Also: BM somehow broke the fiends down into their base elements through sheer force of will and absorbed all of their evil. That's why he's glowing. That's about all you need to know to be up to speed on the latest of it. |
