How best to advertise an apartment?
So we decided to pick up and move, and among the many things i need to do, is advertise for someone to claim this apartment.
It's a beautiful place and location, near metros and schools. 4 1/2. Thing is, I have -no idea- how to write an advert, or what pictures to include, or anything like that. Can I get some help? [Going to include the Fridge/stove, despite paying for them myself, for free, and the Couch/chair.] |

Why would you need to advertise an apartment you are moving out of - isn't the landlord/management responsible for that after you tell them you're gonna move out?

The only way to be let out of a lease is to advertise and get someone else to take it over- or else you are responsible for paying out the entire term of the lease.

Thanks for the clarification. Down here the company I'm unfortunately renting from just charges you three months rent if you break lease.
As for advertisements, I'm no good there as my advice is to just copy another apartment advertisement's style and go from there.

Over here it ranges from customary to mandatory to include a floor plan as well as info on how many square meters (or whatever unit you use) the apartment has, how many rooms, how the bathroom facilities are arranged etc. Other good info to include is what kind of neighborhood the apartment is in, how far it is to places to shop and such; don't go nuts listing every store in the area but if you have, say, a large grocery store within five walking minutes or something, include that. Also list the closest stop for every public transit system there is. Pictures of the furniture and appliances you're leaving might be good too (unless you really have to get rid of the apartment urgently I'd advise you to not be silly and give the stuff away for free - at most, depending on the state they're in, I'd give away the chair and couch and get your successor to pay you off for the appliances). Also pictures from the view you have from the apartment, maybe some from the neighborhood, but potential tenants will likely have to come over and see for themselves [again, that's just how it usually goes over here] so those might not be quite as important.

I assume you are going to advertise it in a newspaper.
Or perhaps elsewhere, like some fancy modern thing I don't get because I'm old. How many rooms does it have, what's the size (in square meterfeet) To advertise an apartment all you need is information, really. At least in my humble opinion. Everything else just makes me feel like some guy desperately tries to stand out like an annoying pop-up or flash ad that try to sell me something. Which is of course precisely what people advertising something want to do in the first place, so the point may seem moot to you. EDIT: Meister >:(

This is what I've got done so far:
4 and a 1/2 Apartment in Verdun, Quebec Spacious master bedroom, open Kitchen and large living room, with smaller room that could be used as an office or second bedroom.Bathroom connected to the living room.The neighborhood is a beautiful locale of Verdun, with nearby parks, waterfront, Metro Access, and Grocers just around the corner, as well as a Washing complex. I will be measuring the apartment today. Does this look like a good write-up? |
