"Goodnight, Sweet Prince" or "A Band Died that I Think No One Else Cared About"
The Number Twelve Looks Like You, after losing a guitarist before Worse than Alone, then losing a vocalist after the release... finally decided to split. They thankfully stopped on a high point and will be remembered for only releasing some damn fine music. Their final show is January 29th in NJ, NY. I so wish I could go but it's kind of halfways across the U.S.
*sigh* I do wish them all the best in future endeavors and sure as hell hope to see Jon Karel drumming for someone soon. So for anyone that cares and didn't know, tl;dr. TNTLLY is dying and will be dead in two months time. |

Other bands have met with worse fates, you can at least take consolation in the fact that they didn't all die in a plane crash like Buddy Holly or Lynyrd Skynyrd.
But no, I never heard of this band. Is this a case of dying before they hit their prime or have they only just gotten into their prime or what do you feel?

I think they were really getting into the groove of what they wanted to do. Their 3rd release began to show very melodic ideas (as melodic as their style can get anyway) and the latest was getting more into that and it's something that I'm pretty sure they thought was a good evolution for the band.
All of the myspace posts during the writing of the latest album seemed incredibly stressed out, but very excited at the same time, often mentioning how much of themselves they were putting into the album. I rather like the album, not quite as much as their 3rd, but much more than the 2nd. I'd say all in all it's a nice time to go out, but I would have liked to see where they went because I didn't see them running out of ideas any time soon. I need an excuse to skip half a week of school to see this show. XD |

I was trying to think of a way to empathize with this situation and I thought of how I would feel if the lead singer for the Protomen up and died tomorrow.
I understand your pain, now.
