Pokémon Umbral ~ Ruinous Origins Mission 1, Chapter 2
Battle 1 Synopsis (Main Entrance): Roserade is down. Shannon, uncaring of Charlotte, replaces Roserade with Florescence (Leafeon). Jumpluff (in Bounce) avoids both Impact and Sol-leks attacks and hits Sol-leks with Bounce. Insulting little turdburgler. Florescence hits Spitz hard with X-Scissor. Matthias Paradigm Shifts and avoids Lanturn's Hydro Pump, but takes a Dragon Pulse from Kingdra, though is still relatively healthy and remains in flight.
Shannon folded her arms and turned the other cheek, apparently not caring that Charlotte had a gun. "You have a really bitchy attitude, you know that? I think someone needs to put the dogs in the backyard and try to land a man somewhere." Takes one to know one, cunt. If that was any indication, Shannon wasn't going to back down. Well, she did still have two Pokémon. Speaking of which, she was going to end up deploying another because Roserade was just defeated. "Florescence, teach this bitch how to heel." Leafeon [Florescence] (Grass Type) [Female] Moves: Leaf Blade / Synthesis / SolarBeam / X-Scissor Ability: Leaf Guard Item: Lax Incense Shannon's Leafeon joined the conflict. Sol-leks and Impact were having trouble on their end, trying to blast Jumpluff while it was in the air. But it was surprisingly agile up there, waiting patiently for Sol-leks and Impact to exhaust themselves, then falls and slams Sol-leks, knocking it on its side, but not hurting it too badly. But Sol-leks and Impact had Jumpluff now. Florescence charged and seized Spitz with a vicious X-Scissor, putting a nasty gash in Spitz's back before Spitz could knock Florescence away. Matthias's body became somehow both very light and very powerful at the same time. Without effort, he was flying above the ground and Moon's Pokémon were staring him down. Kingdra and Lanturn met his gaze and shot him with Dragon Pulse and Hydro Pump, respectively. Matthias automatically started avoiding the Hydro Pump and was doing really well until the Dragon Pulse stunned him briefly. But the Hydro Pump had missed him completely. ----- Battle 2 Synopsis (Roof Battle): Tyranitar and Skarmory are healed. Crystalith goes down. Garus replaces with Walrein, his last Pokémon. Froslass is killed by poison. Evangaleen replaces with Raichu, her last Pokémon. Rachel heals all, but the three electrics down Skarmory. Rachel is preparing to remedy that, but with three electrics on the field, it's likely that the same scenario would just occur again if Skarmory is revived the next turn. Ampharos is hurt by Swampert's Earth Power. Swampert is hurt by Walrein's Crunch. Rachel winked which somehow indicated that she was acknowledging orders. "Here goes! Healing, friendship, and love galore!" The way Rachel spoke while she worked probably weirded someone out, but Pierce's Tyranitar and Skarmory were as healed as Rachel could possibly get them, then Rachel revived and healed Renny's Magnezone. She wasn't much for fighting, but she could bring about weakened warrior back to their feet in little time at all. And they displayed their mighty return to greatness by putting Crystalith down. Crystalith struggled to its feet, but even with Garus's encouragement, too much pain was too much pain. Crystalith dissolved into energy and returned to its Pokéball. Rachel then collected data on the trainers with her scouter. "I've got cuffs and Thunder Wave. Rayleen says that if I can't fight, I might as well make myself useful in other ways." Froslass suddenly dematerialized and returned to its Pokéball. Garus frowned because he had only one Pokémon left to continue the fight. He tossed the ball halfheartedly and deployed Walrein. Evangaleen picked up the slack by deploying a third Pokémon and the only one she had in reserve, Raichu. Walrein (Ice/Water Type) [Male] Moves: Blizzard / Ice Fang / Sheer Cold / Crunch Ability: Thick Fat Raichu (Electric Type) [Male] Moves: Thunder / Thunder Wave / Slam / Light Screen Ability: Static Swampert hit Ampharos hard. Ampharos successfully fought its confusion and joined with Lambdavolt and Raichu to blast Skarmory out of the sky again. This time, Skarmory didn't get back up and returned to the Pokéball. "Gimme a minute and I'll have Skarmory flying and reflecting sunlight in my eyes again, though it would behoove you to clear out all that electrical fury." Rachel reported, scavenging through her large backpack. Walrein seized Swampert by the neck and bit down hard with a solid Crunch, though just one attack wasn't going to cut it. ----- Battle 3 Synopsis (Rear Entrance): Ariados is down. Rayleen joins the party. Dusknoir strikes Isaac with Shadow Punch. Ariados's body slammed against the ground. Bright green liquid pooled out of its nearly split body. Dusknoir took one look at the Ariados Isaac had just slaughtered, then looked back toward where Bretton was fighting, then faced Isaac, who now had a beautiful woman next to him. "Everybody else looked okay so I thought I'd stop by to see how you were doing," Rayleen said, though she looked exhausted. She must have sprinted all the way from where Heatran exploded from the ground to the surface through the subway entrance and ran back to the bank, all that heavy equipment in tow. She shook her head quickly and produced a canister with a biohazard warning on it. She popped the top and drew out something that vaguely resembled a Parasect, then rapidly closed the top. "I don't have any advantage on Dusknoir, but I can do some damage." Dusknoir didn't wait any longer, rushing forward with the speed of the intangible undead and smashing Isaac with a Shadow Punch. Isaac had to restabilize himself with a little footwork, and he could feel himself hurting, but he was still capable of fighting. The damage was piling up against him. Pierce sighed as Skarmory was taken down and returned to her pokeball. "You did good." He let her out of her pokeball for Rachel to revive, and then he deployed Blaziken to replace her. "I think it's about time we finished this. Blaziken, use Sunny Day!"
"BLAZE!" Cried the pokemon, as all of a sudden the scorching sun appeared, joining in with the sandstorm and the hail and fucking up the weather on the roof even more. His and Renny's pokemon should be unaffected by Sunny Day, but Evangeleen's pokemon should find it hard to aim. Walrein was both water and ice type, and Pierce wasn't sure if it would affect it. "Tyranitar, Stone Edge on that Walrein!"

Renny flinched a little as Swampert viciously fought to pull his head out from the blubber ice pokemon's maw. He had just intended to send out Magnezone, but the Sunny Day was going to be harsh on his steel type.
"Thanks a ton Rachel. I appreciate it! Magnezone, glad to have you back. Can you hold on a little longer? The battle is almost done. I need you to take out that Walrein with Thunderbolt." "Magne" "Alright. Umbreon return! Go ahead Magnezone!" Umbreon got recalled into its pokeball while Magnezone hovered slightly over the ground past Renny stopping alongside Swampert, with electricity jolting between its magnets before arcing toward the fat walrus pokemon. "Excellent Swampert! Do it again, it's working!" Swampert smirked despite its wooziness and prepared the tried and true onslaught of mud and rocks. ----------- Swampert attempts to use Earth Power on Ampharos again. Super-effective STAB and all that. Magnezone switches in for Umbreon and Thunderbolts Walrien for Supereffective STAB. Last edited by Menarker; 02-25-2010 at 11:49 AM. |

Spitz was hurt, and liable to go down soon. Sol-leks knew this just as well as Spitz did. Sol-leks may be a blood-thirsty hell hound, but he's still smart enough to know that Spitz won't be able to fight off Florescence. Sol-leks barked at Spitz and made a motion towards the fluttering Jumpluff, trying to tell him to attack it instead of Florescence, as the their trainer seemed to be tied up at the moment. Spitz was a bit resentful, but agreed. He was damaged and posioned, he stood little to know chance against the Lefeon.
Swiftly, the two traded positions and enemies. Spitz wasted no time in using the slight element of surprise he received and sent a Dark Pulse shifting right at the flying pest. Sol-leks to used it as an opportunity to attack the Lefeon. Hoping to end it in a single turn, Sol-leks had already started preparing an Overheat the moment Spitz had made the agreement to swap foes. Wasting no time, Sol-leks charged at Florescence and let loose a gargantuan blast of Heat and fire at the Lefeon. Meanwhile, Charlotte was absolutely thrilled at the situation she had Shannon in and was paying no heed to her pokemon battling. It was a very fortunate thing that they could coordinate themselves, seeing how easily their master would walk out of the fight. Charlotte briefly examined the gun that Impact had gave her. 'Its like Christmas came early,' Charlotte mused, 'now I won't need to chase the girl down and kill her with my bare hands, or waste my hounds' time.' Grinning wildly, Charlotte lifted the revolver and aimed it at Shannon. Any normal person would give up by this point. The obvious malice that Charlotte carried was so thick you could cut it with a knife. The only thing Sharron had going for her was that Charlotte definitely had little experience with guns, and seemed to have poor aim, and even a bit unsure as to how the iron sight worked. "You better hope they have the doctors at the ready," Charlotte said. Despite her lack of practice or aim, Charlotte still did her best to take a shot at the enemy trainer, trying to aim at around her torso as she squeezed the trigger, letting loose a loud boom. Impact glanced between the three conflicts taking place, Spitz attacking Jumpluff, Sol-leks fighting Leafeon, Charlotte shooting at Shannon. The latter actually shocked him slightly. He had known that Charlotte was bloodthirsty, but he hadn't expected her to be that unstable. Oh well. How sad. He couldn't have known. His only worry was that blame would be attached to him, but he'd talk his way out of that. He generally did. The only problem was that Charlotte seemed more distracted than Shannon, but he was sure that would change now that bullets were actually in the air.
But back to the battle. He had felt disappointed that his LH shots had missed the bouncing Jumpluff, but he hadn't expended too much ammo, and what he had expended had fallen back to earth around Shannon, further dropping the temperature. Impact began feeling the drop in temperature as well, would have shivered if not for the armor and the adrenaline. He hoped it'd be a lot worse for Shannon's monsters. And speaking of her monsters, he had grinned as Leafeon entered the battle. The girl had seemed quite confident so far, but perhaps that could change in they managed to eliminate her flagship. Houndoom had already fired off its overheat, and, after waiting a moment for any flame effects to dissipate, he followed up with his LH launcher. He really wanted to eliminate that Leafeon, particularly since it could heal itself. He found it highly annoying when his targets regained strength, and of course the best way to prevent that was destruction of the target in question. He hadn't changed the setting on his weapon, which was now issuing a continuous cone of cold incarnate. He'd decided to go for maximum damage without regard for ammo, so he was simply aiming at the thing's centre of mass. |

Matthias had almost forgotten how much fun it was to fly. He may not be the fastest thing in the air but it was exhilarating and it was much easier to avoid his foes with the extra dimension for movement. Then the Kingdra's attack impacted upon him and brought him back to reality. Now wasn't the time for fun and games.
He recovered from the Dragon Pulse, examining the battle field and deciding on which of his options he wanted to attempt. He was sorely tempted to use Toxic on the Kingdra. He most certainly had no intention of fighting it fairly and that would certainly help. On the other hand he was injured and using Giga Drain on the Lanturn was also quite tempting. He looked between the two briefly and decided on his course of action. He flew towards the Kingdra but didn't move any closer to the ground, instead raining a small cloud of poisonous dust down towards it Let's see how long you can last Kingdra with a Toxic on you. |

Isaac was suddenly realizing how much damage was actually being done to him. Individually each attack was weak and had little effect on him but together they actually took a good portion of his health away. He would need to be on his guard from now on, though there was also a possibility of ending this battle quickly in on move, by scaring the Dusknoir away. Or he could crunch the undead bastard. When Rayleen popped up out of nowhere Isaac felt a little embarrassed at not having finished up here already, but also sort of relieved. “Thanks for coming, but I can handle this guy. Though if you truly want to help hit him with the most powerful moves you got because the sooner we get out of here the sooner we will be able to help the others.”
Roar (Which works on Ghost pokemon even if it is a normal move. It doesn’t work on pokemon with the sound proof ability though but Dusknoir does not have that), that was his decision. “I think I can scare this thing away, especially after he saw what I did to that Ariados. Make sure to cover your ears, or they will bleed.” With that Isaac firmly planted his feet into the ground and let out a loud Roar that reverberated throughout the area and slightly shook the buildings next to him. Small cracks appeared in nearby rocks due to his roar. Its power was great and could be heard from miles away. |

Battle 1 Synopsis (Main Entrance): This battle is over due to one crazy bitch. The main entrance is clear now. Shannon and Moon have recalled their Pokémon and are being escorted away. A mortally wounded Machamp exits the hospital and falls on Charlotte.
Things were really getting out of hand here, but the moment Charlotte pulled the trigger, the whole conflict ended. Florescence returned to its Pokéball, defeated. Jumpluff was wounded, but still in good condition to keep fighting. Still- "Oh my god, Moon!" Shannon called. The water trainer had taken the bullet for her. As Shannon leaned over his body, she turned a face of beginning tears toward Charlotte. "What the fuck is your goddamned problem, you crazy-ass motherfucking bitch!?" Language, Shannon. Language. "We...concede," Moon uttered. The effort to speak caused a trickle of blood to issue from his mouth. "Moon! Oh my god, are you alright!?" "Heh...I didn't think anyone cared about me," Moon chuckled. "I'm alright, I think. Hurts like a bitch, but I don't feel like I'm dying." "If you want to arrest us, that's fine," Shannon said, helping Moon and giving him her shoulder for support. "We surrender. Gawd, we didn't even wanna hurt anybody and here comes psycho-bitch, trigger happy like a motherfucker. You Sharpedo Squad guys don't get psyche evals before you get hired, do you?" Shannon and Moon recalled their Pokémon as the cops escorted Shannon and Moon to a cruiser for medical treatment. The police had a Blissey with them, so it was likely Moon could be treated immediately. Charlotte didn't have time to feel proud of herself because a Machamp suddenly burst out of the main entrance, not even waiting for the automatic doors and shattering them. He was missing his top left arm, the bottom left arm was missing almost all of its fingers, there were numerous gashes across its chest and legs and face. Its eyes were gouged out. It stumbled right into Charlotte and knocked her down, making her accidently fire the gun again, right into Machamp's torso. The Machamp shivered and fell dead, Charlotte pinned under its chest and her clothes being ruined by Machamp's blood. ----- Battle 2 Synopsis (Roof): Walrein is downed. Garus can no longer battle and doesn't seem too depressed about it, or maybe he's always depressed. Rachel restores Skarmory to full health. Swampert strikes itself and comes to its senses for the next turns. Lambdavolt, Ampharos and Raichu concentrate their electrical fury on Blaziken, hurting it seriously and paralyzing it. Blaziken's Sunny Day forced all of the other inclement weather away. Walrein froze as it started to get uncomfortably warm, then Stone Edge rocked it for critical damage. Walrein struggled against the terrible wound and the sudden heat. Then Magnezone convinced Walrein to call it quits. Garus shrugged as his last Pokémon was taken out. "Garus, run away!" Evangaleen called. "I'll cover you!" Garus shook his head. "Nah, I don't feel like it. Besides, the only way off this roof without a possible serious leg injury is by using the ladder-" "So go use the ladder, already!" "-on the other side of their Pokémon." Evangaleen was quiet for a bit. "Ah," she said finally. "Garus is down," Rachel reported over the scouters as she restored Skarmory to functionality and returned it to the Pokéball, passing it onto Pierce. "I think I'll refrain from paralyzing him. I don't think he'll cause anymore trouble." Swampert's vision was swimming with illusions from the Confuse Ray that it didn't notice it just struck itself until the pain came. This snapped it out of confusion. It wasn't badly hurt. Evangaleen directed all three of her Pokémon to concentrate Thunder onto Blaziken, hurting it badly and paralyzing it. "Watch out for me, I still pack some punch!" Evangaleen taunted. She sure was brave to keep up the fight despite the fact that she was outnumbered four to three. ----- Battle 3 Synopsis (Rear Entrance): Dusknoir flees. All clear to enter the reception room from the rear entrance, now. Dusknoir grasped at its ears, then vanished like ghosts tend to do. Rayleen put her parasite away. "Nice work. So what's Bretton doing? I thought he was supposed to be guarding here?" Isaac explained that Bretton went to go deal with Heatran, but now he's fighting for his life. "Ah. I got a look at the fights going on before coming back here. We should be able to wrap things up quickly now, if they have already cleared the main entrance. We should go in. There's no telling how long until that manager cracks and gives them the combination to the vault." |

He followed with a short relation of what happend at the parking lot, raising his voice as a result of temporary Roar-issued deafness. "Bretton is under custody, Heatran was successfully snagged by Mike." He paused to shake his head in an attempt to restore proper hearing. "What's our next move?" |

Impact grinned. They weren't allowed to kill, but no laws against maiming your enemies. Just like the olden days, only this time he was on the "Shoot trainers" side. He realized he liked Charlotte. He still detested her for using pokemon, but at least she did her own dirty work. He reloaded his LH launcher, slung it over his shoulder, then walked over to the Machamp Charlotte was pinned under. He squatted down next to her head and, making sure nothing was in the way, unsheathed his claws. "Nicely done. I think I like working with you. Keep the gun." He studied the Machamp. "If your dogs help, I think I can lever this thing off you." Without waiting for a reply, he stuck the blades under Machamp's shoulder, making sure not to cut anything that wasn't dead yet, then, using the ground for leverage, pushed the dead monster's torso up a little, while speaking into his scouter. "This is entrance, our path is clear. Shannon's surrendered, Moon's surrendered and bleeding. I'd advise that we form up on the parking lot and go in together, because something strange's going on here." He looked at the Machamp's injuries, its disfigurement, winched as he realized it no longer had eyeballs. "We have a Machamp here that's been literally cut to pieces. I honestly doubt the squad at reception is still alive, and I wish I could be relieved about that. We'll keep the main entrance covered, if you're still fighting, watch your backs. Something really wicked this way comes, and it's strong enough to put a Machamp through the meat grinder. Impact out." He was feeling vaguely uneasy, he suddenly realized. He didn't feel fear often, sometimes shock, sometimes he was startled, sometimes high on adrenaline, but those were all spur-of-the-moment reactions to almost dying. The sense of unease, caution and realization that you didn't know what was around the corner, but it might kill you anyway, that was something alien to him. Alien no longer, of course. He'd seen a lot of pokemon get mauled in his eventful career, but none of them had sustained the kind of injuries that this muscle-packed monster had. He didn't know what was around the corner, didn't know how to kill it easily, where its weak points were, how it could kill him. Slowly, but surely, he became scared.
