Twilight fans name their kids in frightening ways.

So yeah. It's probably nothing. A lot of people take names they like from media, or current events. There's lots of Brads and Angelinas, there's probably a few named after Doctor Who characters or Metal Gear Solid characters... but Twilight?

I'm over-reacting.

...But seriously? These kids are either going to grow up to hate their names because of the affiliation, or love their names and act like the characters in the books, which would be even worse!

By the time they're old enough to know any better they'll have no idea what the fuck Twilight is and it's not like Edward or Isabella are exactly rare names, either.

Yeah these kids will just grow up to be average normal Eddie's and Isabelle's. This is like the one area where Twilight actually beats other vampire fiction. Think of the poor saps who grow up with Anne Rice or Buffy fanatic parents.

Like others said, those names are pretty tame as far as media-based names go, and unless the parents are some kind of crazed uberfans, chances are the kids won't even get the reference until they're older. By then, hopefully, this whole mess of a fad will have been swept under the rug.

Now if someone goes and names their kid something like "Renesmee" or "Volturi", feel free to break out the men in white coats.

I am offically naming my firstborn Bob after Bob the Mercenary.

When people hear the name "Bob" in reference to my child they will become angry that I named a child after a member of an internet forum.
