Sym-Bionic Titan: Better than animu
The new show by Genndy Tartakovski, whose previous work includes Dexter's Lab, Samurai Jack, PowerPuff Girls, and the original Clone Wars. The pilot episode is up on Cartoon Network's website.
I think this the most promising thing to come out of the channel in years. It is a homage to old-school sentai and giant robot serials, and it has more in common with SJ and CW than his other works. |

Awesome I was just wondering when Tartakovsky's next thing would come out. Looks pretty good, wonder when it's gonna make it's way down here.
Hey, yeah it's good but you're making it sound like the first good thing they've made in ages. CN has been on a run lately. Adventure Time, Chowder and Flapjack are all ace.

I didn't say it was the only good thing, just the most promising. I like how the nature of the setting lets it be anything in-between slapstick comedy and serious drama -for a show about high school, it does have its fair amount of neck-snapping. |

Don't forget Generator Rex, also known as "Gurren Lagaan, but a person!".
I mean, no drill motif, but the dude grows his own helipack and bikelegs. More on topic, saw the second episode last night. Pretty good shit, especially with Lance's insistence that they have everything they need, despite having an EMPTY HOUSE. |

This show has quite a lot of potential. And the Big bad of series is all kinds of badass.

Saw the pilot. Pretty good, but I think the second episode is better, what with the ninja general and all.

I was kind of meh on it, but the whole getting their ideas about high school from TV and their vastly different reactions just left me gasping. XD

Watching the pilot. I like Octus. That's about my only impression so far beyond really, really liking the lovely painted backdrops.
Edit: Still watching. They based their research on MTV type shows. That's only one step about Invader Zim's intel gathering. Their method of giant robot forming, oddly, seems to make sense more than others. I like the look of it, too. The sort of glass/plastic look. Wave of destruction. MAN, I hope that all was evacuated. Only Megas causes more damage than this. I love how they finished off the enemy with a GIANT SWORD FROM NOWHERE in the spirit of Voltron and MMPR. Last edited by Viridis; 09-25-2010 at 11:34 PM. |

So we are clear

There is something about the look of it I just love. I think its the detail, like the giant pillar of smoke rising from the fire monster. I do think those people weren't evacuated. I mean we saw Octus snap a mans neck, this isn't a show that will shy away from killing.
All the characters are great, though their multi-names automaton is my favorite. I honestly think he's secretely enjoying this, I mean not like there was a reason for him to join school too, especially when he isn't in the same class as them
