And Soul Eater Continues [Soul Eater Not! Thread]
So for those unaware, Soul Eater Not's first chapter is up.
Nothing much happened though Anya seems kind fun. The new lead is your average girl, and I'm loving the Hero School theme it's got going. (Note that I didn't read Soul Eater). I like the weapon she turns into. The Halberd, while plain in appearance, is pretty neat looking. Off to a normal start but if it's anything like the first one. It'll get awesome in time. Any body else plan to keep up with this one?

Wait Soul Eater is done? I though SE Not was just a spin-off chapter. SE doesn't really seem finished to me especially with the Kishin still on the loose.

Again I haven't read Soul Eater yet. So I'm only assuming that it ended. (Could of sworn it ended over a month or two ago)
At least this seems to be the start of a new Story. The remaining plot points (if any) from the first would probably be cleared up in this eventually.

100% sure the show ended, not so sure for the comic.

Peasts, what the hell?
Comic is still going strong and being goddamned awesome, it's one of those series where the show only knocked off the first few arcs then made up an ending. Anyway, this at first seemed to be a spinoff chapter (a what do they call it, omake) but the end text implied continuation so the SE dude might be doing a side-series/mini-series alongside SE, seeming to focus on the more lighthearted side of the comic as the main comic has gotten a bit more serious (as a story revolving around Elder Gods is wont to do). It is still pretty silly though, guess the dude just wanted to have a go at a supernatural comedy rather than a supernatural action series with comedy.
The comic seems to be set a while back in the timeline as Medusa is still a doctor, Sid's not a zombie and Sid's girlfriend is just a mummy cosplayer rather than a necrophiliac..... Anyway I like it and more Soul Eater is welcome.

I admittedly assumed this but was there really any evidence that they are dating?

Ah that explains it. So it was the Anime that ended (and will likely return remastered and/or extended once the manga's far enough along/finished.)
So SE N! is a side story set before the events of the main story.

What I like most is that its going over what we skipped in Soul Eater. Besides a few flashbacks we don't know much about what its like for people at the lower teir of the school. How you train to use your abilities, details of finding a partner, ect
And I dont know if I should love or hate this. I didn't realize Death City was in America, but when they mentioned what state the reason hit me. Its Death Valley

Yeah, this might be more focused on showing the life of a low teir Weapon and Mister. The life of a freshmen in a school of Heroes.

Read it, liked it, and hope it continues as a companion to Soul Eater as Maka and company finally take on the gosh darn Kishin.
The author seems better at comedy than morality speeches, and all we've been getting lately in Soul Eater is yelling about what power is. Heck, the last chapter was nearly incomprehensible, what with throwing all the new terminology for everyone's final plans at the audience at once. I know he'll explain it all eventually, but still. Soul Eater Not was an appreciated break from all that for a nice, simple story about people who turn into weapons. Edit: It's fun to call people necrophiliacs.
