Princess Sara
I'm probably missing something, but I've been rereading 8-Bit Theater, and I never got the point of Princess Sara. Like, she was built up as a major future villain early up in the comic, then just sort of dropped. Was it just a joke? A planned plot point later dropped? A red herring? Part of when 8-Bit Theater was going to be parody of all 8-bit games in general?

Princess Sara is a self-aware character. She is fairly aware of all the stupidity around her. So, probably she just decided that be a Villain surrounded by THAT group of people would be more trouble than it could ever be worth...

She usurped the king as rightful ruler to the throne, which, though kinda evil, wasn't relative to how HORRIBLE la ruler her father was.
Her fiasco with evil made her realize that the only person fit to rule was herself, and she was princess already. So she more than likely worked with the King's left hand man to oust him subtly, ended the war with the other countries, and Corneria has become the most successful kingdom ever, as it was never blown up by any warriors and had competent rulership.

I believe in King Steve. I still have my retirement fund invested in the mana-drilling project.
