Firefox wants to misbehave
So, I was reading some threads here, then BAM, BSOD from a USB driver issue.
I shrug, slightly annoyed at this first BSOD in forever, and reboot. Now, Firefox is being all picky about what it will and won't do, taking forever to kill it's own process (I've closed out, then five minutes later tried to open it again, and it's all, "Nope! Still running!"), and taking forever to load anything. And, it keeps seeming to save all my tabs whenever I close the window, reloading it all instead of my home page. Also, while typing this, it just slowed down a a ton, almost to the point of not respinding. I'm surprised the window hasn't grayed out, since I'm not seeing any of this. And it's not registering the text box as a text box when I mouse over it. It just stopped responding, then came back again, after briefly flashing to my desktop. (It went window -> Desktop, grayed out window, boom responding again) It's rather inconvenient. Ran three virus scans, found nothing, and am currently defragging, but nothing's fragmented. Next step is just a clean new install of Firefox, if all else fails. Edit: Aggravatingly enough, it seems to have fixed itself, 22% into the first pass of defragging. Still, it's weird and annoying and I don't like this. > Double edit: Though, connection times seem way too long and laggy.

That's so PC of you

i would suggest a clear re-install of the software, if it's the only thing that is not working properly. Also, this sounds a bit close to "virusland" to me, so check that out

I'd blame recently installed plugins, so yes, a clean re-install seems like the best idea.
On the issue with the tabs (which is how I actually prefer it): Options -> General -> When Firefox starts If you don't want your last session to be restored just tell it to display a homepage. Sometimes a new plugin, or even unrelated software that is somehow integrated into firefox can make changes to that, though, usually they set a lame-ass new homepage no one ever cares about.

The worst thing ever was when Skype decided to put an unremovable firefox plugin onto Firefox, that I had to delete the files for manually.
