WHY ARE THEY MAKING A FOOTLOOSE REMAKE?
Alternate title coulda been "Why Is Hollywood So Focused On Making Remakes?" What possible reason could there be for this? Or that Alvin And The Chipmunks thing? Or... pretty much anything done in the last five years?
EDIT Not to mention, the beginning of the trailer marks it as The Peaceful Warrior remake. Wait. If TPW came out after Footloose, but before the remake... |

Less risk in a remake that will trigger a fan of the original to be like "Oh yeah let's see what they do with this one!"
And love it or hate it, doesn't really matter, you paid for a ticket. |

Pretty soon they'll just remake stuff from last year every year. Or even stuff that hasn't been made yet, and the original will actually be perceived as the remake! And then our heads explode.
EDIT: The only way this movie will work is if the dancing that has been outlawed is breakdancing and it's basically Step Up 4. No wait, daggering. (you can skip to 0:47 if you are not sure what daggering is, as it features extravagantly throughout the rest). Ladderjumpdaggering will be the big finale scene. ANOTHER EDIT: You know what just remake that music video into a full-length feature film and fuck Footloose.

I mean, like, Bring It On, Roll Bounce, Step Up, Save The Last Dance...
They're all terrible, but at least they're not "BAN KIDS DANCING WHAT FOR!" terrible. (I have not seen any of the movies listed) |

You forgot You got Served. But yeah I can almost guarantee no kid in a southern town of that size dances like that. Like Footloose kind of worked because the dancing wasn't something you needed to be an Olympic athlete to do. This type of dancing not so much. Also, people go dancing to get close to each other and have fun. You can't do flips and that stuff at the same time unless you're moshing and intend to kick people.
Really the whole premise makes no sense if the dancing isn't practical. |

know what would be awesome, Footloose, but replace "dancing" with "video games"
and for some meta have it end with DDR

Really, all I know about Footloose, I learned from Cracked, and I'm wondering how they're going to remake the 'Kevin Bacon dancing alone to his car radio in an abandoned barn for seven minutes' scene.
