PSP Video Formats?
Short - What specific video formats does the PSP (specifically PSP Slim, 2000 series) support?
Long - I give up. Every time someone or I ask about PSP video formats, the only answers that crop up are what different 'free' converters are available. No matter where I search, no one gives any info on the bit rate, sound, FPS, or anything except that it's "some kind of MP4". I'm not looking for a converter. You wouldn't be able to point me to a source, would you? I just want to use my own video editing software to render straight to a compatible format. That and tweak some older videos so as to be compatible, yet of an acceptable quality. I would be much obliged. |

It outputs to AVC 720x480 format using the defined, Sony-Standard hardware and settings to screen.
It supports, for video files, MP4's. Not "Some kind of MP4's. the extension is "xxxx.mp4". If you have the software for the PSP, the "Media Go" station, to act as your middle-man for video uploads, it'll push everything to the right format automatically, and include the .jpeg preview image that the PSP seems to demand to play a video correctly. It's a quirky platform that I had the same issues with. Even straight converting videos to .mp4 gives me all kinds of bullshit troubles. :/ So, good luck. |
